“Why are we staying behind?” Ryoji finally had the courage to ask, following behind Makoto, but not preparing his weapon.
Makoto stopped in his tracks when they finally reached a dead end, then turned around to face Ryoji with an expression he couldn’t read at all. His eyebrows were pinched together, and his usual poker face was slightly tighter than usual.
“We need to talk,” Makoto said. “About your insufficiencies as a teammate.”

Heathcliff was staring, he knew that. His heart was hammering and his mouth was dry, his bat loose in his grip from his sweaty palms — and despite it all, he couldn't tear his eyes away from the man. In all honesty, he was less than focused on the fight. How could he be? He wanted nothing more than to be the one that was that close to him, even if it came with a blade to the throat and a gun to the temple. He wanted that man so much it made him dizzy.
