And Kurapika was quite positive he was having a nightmare, or he was actually dead and this was hell, because he actually felt the ground drop out from under his feet when Mizai met his gaze with those mismatched eyes and said, “We don’t know.”

The Succession War has been decided. Kurapika has found the last of the Eyes. At last he can start to put his life back together. And then Leorio was kidnapped.
Kurapika will tear apart the Black Whale himself to find Leorio.

Five years without any contact was a long time. The distance had built new walls on top of old wounds. They were still best friends, maybe, but did they really know each other anymore? In an ideal situation, they'd spend some time alone, maybe go on a few small adventures. Take it slow. Rediscover what drew them to each other in the first place.
But Killua had officially decided that the situation was not ideal. In fact, it was so much the opposite that he was going to have an enormous hickey on the inside of his elbow.
Because instead of taking things slow, they were pretending to make out in a closet.

Excellent post canon exploration of the killugon dynamic. Feels like a very in character exploration of who these characters are and how they might grow up and also how fucked up their last adventure went. like im not saying anything new but those ants were fucked up. These two also suck at communication, which is what I like to see in these two very weird children.
