This is a now non-cannon scene I wrote over half a year ago for Not Just Another Self Insert starring a bunch of giant robots that WERE going to be in NJASI but were cut mid production due to a lot of behind the scenes reasons. The Idea was that they were built using data from the stolen Giganto Weapon to serve as commander units for the Seekers's robot army. The purpose of the scene was to try and give the four of them some characterization, and provide a bit of levity. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, go read that fic first. I upload this separately because even if it now isn't going to be used in that fic, I don't want to just throw it away never to be seen. Consider it a "what if" glimpse into the original plan for the story if you want.

I’m taking advantage of the lull between the last of the late breakfast crowd and the start of the early lunch rush when the diner front door bangs shut. Emma is out back dealing with a delivery, so I grab a menu and head over to intercept. I usually man the grill, but we’re so chronically understaffed everyone knows how to step in where needed.
A sole figure pauses in the doorway, beneath the rainbow bunting leftover from Pride, one hand reaching behind for the knob as if already reconsidering.
“Hey! Come on in!” I say in my best hosting voice.
The guy is tall and pale, wearing grey sweats and this season's most popular puffer jacket, the collar pulled up and a black toque pulled low on his head. The only standout thing about him is the sunglasses, worn inside on an overcast day. Oh, and that he is blinding hot. There is that.
