It's been twenty years but after watching how genuine The Pitt is, I can't help but think back on how Abby and Carter's relationship felt like it was tossed aside. Starts about a year after season 10. Abby has split from Luka as has Carter from Kem. Carter is getting ready to return to Africa but this time Abby makes a different choice: she goes with him.

Carter has this “what-if” game that he plays, even though he tells his therapist that he doesn’t play it anymore because it’s extremely unhealthy. He goes down a rabbit hole wondering if he’d be less lonely if he made the opposite choice at any given point in time in his whole life.
