Summary
Greetings zep heads.
At the time of writing this essay I only have the one essay, but I may write more in the future. Here I will be analyzing the lyrics of Robert Plant through a queer lens. Specifically, we'll be considering the hypothesis that he's singing to Jimmy Page. It's not exactly a work of fiction, nor of nonfiction; it's my interpretation and theory about a series of canonical texts.

Ten for a bird,

Loki catches his brother sex chatting girls online behind Jane’s back. Thor is a real asshole about it. He’s a real asshole, period. He deserves a lesson. And Loki deserves revenge. He sets up a profile as a fictional girl to entrap his brother and ruin what he has with Jane. Or that was the plan. Things don’t go quite as expected.

Summary
(Harrumph. Tap-tap. Is this working? okay)
So what you'll find here is a collection of uuuh literary analyses of Robert Plant's original lyrics from the 70s to current times. The idea behind it is that Robert has been writing about his epic love story with Jimmy Page...
(*shuffling of chairs and rumble of footsteps as the audience stampedes for the nearest exit in a panic*)
... Oookay. So. The three brave souls remaining, with enough curiosity and open-mindedness (or enough "poor girl, she's tried so hard") to give me a chance. Gather round, bit closer.
What I was saying. Robert Plant has been writing about his epic love story with Jimmy Page in his songs since forever. It's really not that subtle. All it takes to see it is considering "so what if it was real" and have a quick look.
But since I've found symbols, metaphors, recurring themes, connections and callbacks all over the place, I'd like to tell you about them. I've done the work, so you don't have to.
The conclusion is (spoilers) yes, Jimbert is hella real, it's not platonic, it's colossal, it's fucking beautiful... and it's alive.
Intrigued yet? Come on board mateys, we're going sailing.

For Tumblr's Thorprize Fest
Jotunheim won the war. Loki practically did it all himself. He wants Thor as his prize, and he is going to get him. But there are things he doesn't know, complicated secrets his father never told him... (Good job Loki grew up smothered in fatherly love. Behold the glorious issue-ness-less.)
Thor lost the war. From prince crown of Asgard, god of Thunder, and hero of legends, to Loki's little playtoy. It's a journey.

"Thor is a Class A Asshole. What a fucking shame. He is also the most beautiful thing Loki has seen in his entire life. He’d be willing to make many allowances for that face, that body, that blinding smile, but the truth is, the man is an Asshole of the highest order, an irredeemable, unbearable jerk."
I just felt like writing this idk.

Summary
Things are going all too well for Thor. His ever rising hockey career took him far away from Loki a long time ago. Loki took himself down the wrong path and got himself in trouble.
But they were once very very close. Too close, even. Out of the blue, video proof emerges of that closeness, threatening to destroy everything Thor has worked for.
At first he thinks it's simple revenge, but with Loki, things are never simple.

Summary
Jimmy Page's On This Day entries continue to be a source of "WHAT THE...!" moments and lots and lots of inspiration in this neck of the woods.
“So many songs to choose from. You had your pick. And yet this is the one you’re going for.”
“It doesn’t mean anything.”
“No? Well, you know I will read into it.”
“I don’t control what you read into things.”
Robert smirks. He finds him rather cute, doesn’t he.
“But you know I will read into it, and you still choose it. What does that mean?”
_
Indeed.

Summary
Robert often talks to Jimmy in his mind. Things they would never dare say to each other.
"Leave me here alone
for just as long as it takes.
Seasons turn
Waiting for the weather to break.
Loving up a storm now
Many times I fell from grace.
Seasons turn
Once again our world will change.Coming from the cold
Reaching for your sweet embrace
The seasons turn
Hid beyond your world I wait
Is your heart still warm?
A little flame, a special place.
Seasons turn
Once again our world will change. All we built has fallen down
Old and new has hit the ground
I know
Blaming tears to lonesome sounds
Hopes and fears have burnt the ground
I knowReaching out to find you.
I put it all behind you
I'm back again, I know.
Across the miles I find you.
I'll put it all behind you.
I'm back again, I'm back again, I'm back."(A way with words, Robert Plant.)

Summary
"I'd originally thought of getting Terry Reid in as lead singer and second guitarist but he had just signed with Mickie Most as a solo artist in a quirk of fate. He suggested I get in touch with Robert Plant, who was then in a band called Hobbstweedle. When I auditioned him and heard him sing, I immediately thought there must be something wrong with him personality-wise or that he had to be impossible to work with, because I just could not understand why, after he told me he'd been singing for a few years already, he hadn't become a big name yet. So I had him down to my place for a little while, just to sort of check him out, and we got along great. No problems."
And the rest, as they say, is history.
So, dazed, yes. Confused? Not for long. (Or for the rest of their lives.)

Summary
In 1975 the band was at its absolute peak, the Black Dragon was at its mightiest, and it was the apotheosis of the Golden God.
That year, Jimmy and Robert travelled to Morocco.
It wasn't their first trip alone together, but it was many weeks long, and it left a deep, enduring mark. When they reunited for Page/Plant in the mid 90s, this is the place they chose to find their groove again. Not many years ago, Robert did the thing he does of telling the press he wishes they would go again, Jimmy and him. (Just pick up the fucking phone, old man.) (NO! I'll make an entire album instead!) (Fine by me anyway. I love that album.)
Very soon after that journey in 1975, disaster struck in the form of a near-fatal car crash which left Robert wheelchair bound for months. He recovered, but things were just not the same after that.
Based on Achilles Last Stand, we fantasise about how it might be in Jimmy's heart and mind in those days, before everything started to fall apart, as well as some terrible, ominous hindsight from his present-ish self, who knows what happens in the next chapter.

Summary
The section "On this day" of Jimmy's website takes a lot more work than Jimmy likes to admit.
It also stirs up the memories, and not just his own. (Sometimes, that's the whole point.)
"Well, what do you know. It would appear that on this day, in 1994, I sat down with Robert Plant for the first time in god knows how long, to start work on what would later become our first reunion album No Quarter."(This is Jimmy's introduction to this thing. He's a bit nervous. We've had about 6 different versions of this first Jimmy chapter, haven't we, luv? None was good enough for you. He has also been a total nag with the edits. He wants to give a good first impression. We'll see how this goes.)

This is for Andie Airfix, the Real Kevin, with love and gratitude for a beautifully inspired and inspiring work of art that says so much. Rest in peace, sir.
After their reunion in the mid-nineties, when it's time to go on their world tour as Page/Plant, Robert and Jimmy meet with Kevin the martyred graphic designer to develop a symbol that's neither the one nor the other, but represents instead the merging of both as one.
They have very clear ideas. And, like, so many of them. They're extremely demanding.
So what's in a symbol? Sit down with Kevin, Jimmy and Robert are about to explain thoroughly and in painstaking detail, and then some.

Summary
Saturday night. 18th May 1985. Jimmy is finally touring again in a band that is working for him. Robert is days away from releasing Shaken and Stirred. He's never seen Jimmy from the audience and he just has time before he flies out to the US.
Jimmy knew this tour would be different. Not like these little bits of projects and charity gigs. Something real. Playing Birmingham it's not such a surprise he's come. Well, maybe it is. It still makes a difference. Knowing he's listening.
