Summary
Looking out over the water, Shane let out a dreamy sort of sigh and said, “I like this."
“The sunset?” Ilya noticed the millisecond of hesitation, so he asked, “Something else?”
“No, the sunset is beautiful,” Shane said quickly. “But it’s also just… being here.” He cleared his throat, trying and failing to sound nonchalant. “With you. It’s nice.”
Maybe that was part of why loving him had scared Ilya so much at first- he had seen the gold in Shane right away, had been transfixed by the possibility of being that close to sunshine again after so many years in the dark. His mom had been golden, too, a bright light that brought so much laughter and compassion into the world. He didn't know if he could handle losing the warmth on his face a second time.
For so long, that kept him from being honest about his feelings, from letting himself believe that someone else could see the light in him, too. But Shane...
Shane Hollander looked at Ilya like he was the sun.

“I always liked you guys together. I guess you could say that we…” his friend paused, giving them a mischievous grin. “We ship it.”
Everyone groaned, but Jisung smiled as he reached down to pick up the cruise voucher. He thought of the small polaroid taken years ago, in another life. He turned the picture over in his mind, though he already knew what was written on the back. Smooth, small letters written with a steady hand in deep blue ink: "I never felt like I’ve ever truly had a home, until I met you."
He secretly kind of shipped it, too.

“But I’m not an actor?”
“You’re a hiker,” Changbin said. “And that’s what is most important for my film's vision.”
Minho sighed. “Can you elaborate on the vision, then?”
“Imagine,” his friend's eyes lit up. “Have you ever met somebody and, from the moment you met, you just clicked? And then you want to show them all of the amazing places that you’ve been to, show them the music that you love, meet the people in their lives. There’s this sudden, intense need to just integrate them into your life."
“Yeah,” Minho said gently. “Yeah, I get that.”

Jisung sighed, a strange feeling in his stomach. “I don’t know what she sees in me sometimes,” he admitted.

Jisung looked horrified. “Oh my god, no!”
Felix looked unconvinced. “You were the one who drew the chilli pepper next to Number 27 in the customer codebook-”
“I add peppers next to all the cute patrons,” Jisung crossed his arms, indignant. “But that was before I found out he was a nosy person with no concept of privacy. His pepper is hereby revoked.”
