What if Light Yagami never picked up the Death Note?
When criminals start dying of heart attacks across Japan, seventeen-year-old Light is just a brilliant, bored student with a policeman father and a strong sense of justice. He's fascinated by the case, and even more fascinated by the detective who outwits Kira on live television behind the name L.
But every piece of evidence keeps pointing at him. The leaks come from his father's files. The dead FBI agent was on his bus. The killings stop the day cameras go into his house. And L, the only mind that has ever kept up with his, is almost certain Light is Kira.
He isn't. Someone close to him is, and they need the world to keep believing otherwise.

Summary
It’s not a big deal. These are friendship chocolates. L will love the combination of strawberry and chocolate, ignoring the shape. He will probably eat the first chocolate slowly, analyzing each bite as carefully as he does something new, fascinated with the taste. And Light will be proud about it, because most of them were of his making, since Sayu fell asleep on the couch before they were done. He won’t show it, naturally. He’ll be as uninterested as L is. His demeanor won’t change one bit.
After spending every Valentine's day giving L the chocolates he doesn't want from his suitors, Light gets roped into making friendship chocolates for him. It's not like he's been avoiding his feelings for L or anything like that. It will be fine, though. Sayu has a plan.
