Summary
It’s after his third session with his new therapist in Leeds that Robert sees her. He’d sat in Vic’s car for 30 minutes after the session ended, staring into space and waiting for his brain and heart to stop racing. For his hands to stop shaking. Of course that puts him right in the middle of rush hour traffic, a river of immovable vehicles in front of him.
He’s been sat in the one spot for nearly 5 minutes when he finally turns to look out of the passenger side window instead of staring at the brake lights of the car in front of him, and there she is.
Sarah looks… haggard. It’s not a word he’d normally use for his 20-year old niece, for any 20-year old really, but it fits. She looks like she’s been put through the ringer, exhausted and sad, and sweaty in the late summer heat. She also looks like she’d rather stick pins in her eyes than talk to anyone, and Robert’s ready to look away, pretend he hadn’t seen her for both of their sakes.

Lydia looks over her shoulder to look at Derek Hale again, then back to him. “He’s an asshole, you know.”
“You think I don’t know that?” Stiles is confused, furrowing his brow. “I’ve only spent the last ten years of my life fighting with him.”
“Yeah, but, I mean, he’s an asshole,” she draws the word out nice and long, as if it takes on a different meaning depending on exactly how she says it. “No one who has ever dated or hooked up with that guy has ever had anything nice to say about him after the fact.”
“What do I care about that?”
She looks at him. It’s that all-knowing, all-seeing gaze, like the eye of Mordor. Stiles feels tiny under its wrath, so he looks away and stares down at his beer can, traces the design with his thumb. “I know you, Stiles Stilinski.”
“Not really. We only dated for, like, five months.”
With a snort, totally uncharacteristic of her and something she would never do sober, she rolls her eyes. “Gee, I wonder why.”

Aaron's spent his life getting ribbed on by army boys and putting bullets through anything with eyes like this kid. A lifetime of fronting. He's not going turn into some little pussy now just because his knee's shot.
“You don't talk like you were made in a test tube,” he shoots back.
Robert pauses, eyes flickering. They really are feline, Aaron thinks, the way they move, the way they look out at the world. Of course, feline doesn't always mean house cat.
Robert shrugs. “I have a TV.”
“Do you?” Aaron hasn't seen TV in years, there's no power outside the city walls any more.

He’d started to feel nauseous, nothing extreme but just a little queasy in the morning when he’d wake up and again just before he’d go to bed. And if he’d felt tired, well he’d been working hard – add in the strain between him and Chrissie and it’d been no surprise he’d felt more exhausted than normal.
But then one day he’d sat down to rest his eyes for 5 minutes at his desk, and had woken up 2 hours later to Chrissie shaking his shoulder, peering down at him with worried eyes. The fact that he’d then slept for 10 hours that night, and had still needed another nap the following day, didn’t go unnoticed by him either.
So he’d bought a test, and had locked himself away in the en-suite where he'd known he wouldn’t be disturbed.
