And yet, he’d never paid too much attention to them aside from fixing what was broken. Until Buck came along, and Eddie’s feelings grew and grew and grew, and now all he could think about was his hands.
The sheer size of them, thick fingers curled around a coffee mug or (God help him) a clipboard. Short nails bitten down to their beds—a horrible habit he had that Eddie had tried (and tried again) to stop him from doing.
They weren’t special in any way, not really. There wasn’t any aesthetic to them that Eddie could reason over why it’d be okay to obsess over them.
They were just hands.
But he couldn’t stop staring at them, wondering what they’d feel like caught between his own, curled around his wrist or absentmindedly trailing patterns against his skin.
They were just hands, and yet, Eddie was desperate to hold them.
Or: The one where Buck, Eddie and Chris watch the eclipse together. In total darkness, Eddie decides to do what he's been craving and hold Buck's hand.
Or or: The 3 times Eddie wants to hold Buck's hand and the 1 time he finally does.

“How many of these have you had?” Buck tapped the ring of the glass with his fingernail. “You know champagne is an aphrodisiac, right?” He giggled.
Eddie loved the sound of his laughter. He wished he could bottle it up and listen to it whenever they weren’t together (which was rare enough, but the point still stood, Eddie thought).
“I knew that.” Eddie definitely knew that, right. He furrowed his eyebrows where he was still resting against Buck’s shoulder. “I’ve only had a few; I’m not drunk or horny because of champagne.” He pulled up to look at Buck. “It’s because of all of this.” He waved his hand in front of Buck, gesturing to his body, the damn suit.
Or: The one where Buck and Eddie attend the LA Firefighter Christmas Gala and lose their minds over one another in a suit.

“Woah! Those look so real—how did you stick them in? I was going to be a vampire, too, but all the fake teeth I could find looked cheap and irritated my gums within five minutes, but those? Where did you even get them from?”
Eddie blinked once, twice, at the mask in front of him, leaning up close to his fangs. He could see his hands, wrapped tight in black leather gloves, hovering in the air as if he were about to touch his teeth.
He jerked his head back slightly, trying to regain some of the personal space he’d lost in this man’s presence.
“Um-,” Eddie started. He wasn’t sure what he was going to say—some lie about where he’d gotten his fangs from or to ask for him to take a step back, but it didn’t matter; the man in front of him interpreted him.
“Sorry. Sorry, I’ve just realized how weird this is. I’m Buck, by the way. Not a creepy weirdo, although I wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t believe me.”
The man lifted his mask, and oh. Maybe he wouldn’t mind him sticking his fingers in his mouth, after all.
Buck and Eddie met at a Halloween party. They fall in love and Buck really, really wants to be bitten.

“I was thinking we could distract ourselves from our kid growing up too fast.” Eddie pressed fleeting kisses along the expanse of Buck’s neck, sucking on her earlobe lightly. “What do you think?”
“Depends on what you have in mind.” Buck tilted her head to the side, feeling her messy bundle of hair that sat on top of her head flop to the side with the movement. “You want to help me with my daily crossword? I’ve got three answers left.”
“You know I love helping you, baby.” Eddie scratched her fingertips across the expanse of Buck’s exposed waist, up to the edge of her bra. “I was thinking we could do that later, though.”
“Hmm, okay.” Buck pretended to frown in confusion, and if she had a spare hand, she’d be tapping her chin with her finger just to further her point. “I guess we could start some laundry. Or finally tidy that top cupboard in here that’s full of junk.”
“Or,” Eddie smacked a kiss to her lips. “I get on my knees right here for you and eat you out until you’re begging me to stop.”
OR: Eddie and Buck are feeling sad Chris is growing up too fast, so they distract themselves in the best way they know how.
