Most of the time Peter’s okay.
Yeah, it still hurts. Having Ned and MJ so close to him yet so far away. Seeing Happy every so often and never being able to say a word. The guilt of May’s death weighing on his shoulders.
But even though the pain never leaves, it’s usually tolerable.
He can let himself cry for a bit, then toughen up and go patrolling.And even if he lets the thugs take a few more hits at him than needed, or lets himself get in the way of a pocket knife, or takes a little too long to dodge a bullet, it’s okay.
Because at least he’s okay.Isn’t he?

“This is you, isn’t it?” Tony held it out. Peter reached out, his hands shaking as he took it from him.
It was the picture they took at Stark Industries. They needed proof for May that he was working as an intern there, so Tony had a certificate made. It was Peter’s idea to give each other bunny ears, but Tony was the one who held the certificate upside-down. They’d barely known each other then, but they’d both laughed when they realized his mistake.
A couple of tears ran down his cheeks as Peter gripped the frame. “Yeah,” he choked out. “That’s— That’s me.”
Peter knew Tony had the photo. He kept it in his lab. Once the spell was set and done, he figured Tony would’ve thrown it out. Why would he hang onto a picture of someone he didn’t recognize?
Peter never told him, but knowing it was there made him feel so important. He should’ve told him.
“You’ve shivering,” Tony commented, just like Pepper had. His anger had turned into a shade of worry and concern. With a small shake of his head, he moved out of the way. “Get in here.”

Natasha and Bucky chose that moment to enter the common room as well, wearing sweaty gym clothes and with messed-up hair. “Hey Sam,” said Natasha. “How terrible was the kid?”
“I take everything back I ever said.” Sam unrolled the top of the lunch sack and showed them its contents. “He brought cookies! You’ve gotta try one, they’re literally the best things I’ve ever tasted in my life.”
Aka, the fic in which Peter volunteers at the VA with Sam, who ends up practically adopting him and tells the whole team, making them all want to meet the fabled kid. Turns out, he might be a lot more familiar than they thought.

In the end, Miyuki Kazuya could at least believe there was some semblance of fairness in the world.
After all, if Sawamura Eijun was going to throw Kazuya's entire world out of orbit by giving him chocolates on Valentine's Day, well, it was only fair that'd he'd execute some payback on White Day. He probably hadn't needed to rope all the other catchers (plus Kuramochi) into his plan, but the more, the merrier, right?
Besides, there's nothing like a good old shopping trip among teammates to raise morale and camaraderie... or start unmitigated war. Hopefully the latter. Now all he needed to do was figure out what exactly he was getting for Sawamura, and how to not make it absolutely obvious how much he was crushing on the pitcher. Fun.

Loki was just opening his mouth to complain when he caught sight of a familiar figure stepping out at the end of the hallway. The silhouette was unmistakable. Loki’s heart dropped in his chest, a faint vibration pressing against his cheeks. It couldn’t be.
“Mobius!” he yelled desperately. “Mobius!” Loki wrenched his elbow from the old man's grip and set off sprinting down the hallway toward Mobius, who had just turned and caught sight of him.
“Oh my god,” Mobius said as Loki reached him.
Loki did not slow down so much as Mobius’s body slowed him down. He crashed into Mobius, wrapping his arms around him and burying his face in his shoulder as Mobius staggered backwards. “You’re here. Oh god, you’re alive, you’re alive,” Loki said, his voice breaking on the words.
