Summary
“Hi,” Will’s head snaps up, and he drops the pencil on the floor.
He doesn't bother to pick it up as his eyes lock on the person who just spoke. It's been three years, but he'd recognize that voice anywhere.
“My name is Mike. Mike Wheeler,”
Mike isn't looking at him. Will would maybe think he hasn't even spotted him yet, but he is very pointedly not looking at him. Will can't tear his eyes away.
That is, until the Professor prompts them to disrobe. And Will quickly finds interest in anything else in the room.

Three years ago, Mike ran away from Hawkins, his friends and family, and from Will. Will moved on. He bundled up all the feelings and packed them away. His life is good now, and he's happy. But then Mike walks back into his life... as a nude model in his figure drawing class, and everything Will thought he had dealt with comes washing back up. Mike wants to be friends again. He wants to fix the way he left things. But can Will and the others forgive him for leaving? Does Will still want Mike in his life, and in what way does he fit?

Summary
"Will, come closer!" He whispers loudly, waving him in. His voice is muffled. Karen has pulled one of the chairs from the corner to Mike's other side of the bed, but he hasn't even given her so much as a glance. Ted sits in the corner, newspaper still in hand. "I have a secret to tell you!"
Will shakes his head, and steps forward. Mike still isn't satisfied.
"Closer!"
He obliges, pulling a chair right up to the top of the bed where Mike sits. He leans forward a little at Mikes beaconing, brow raised and waiting. Mike looks him over, eyes lidded, grin watery. Up close Will notices that his teeth are tinted pink from traces of blood and he seems to be biting down on gauze in the back of his mouth.
"Hi," Mike says, in a fit of giggles.
Mike gets his wisdom teeth out and shares a few secrets that Will certainly never expected to hear. But its not like he actually meant it, right?

Summary
He opens the door to see Will crouched by the trash can, one of the letters open in his hands, and more scattered on the floor around him. He looks up in surprise when Mike enters, and then his expression turns to worry.
“Mike…”
“What are you doing?” Mike shouts, running over to grab the letter out of his hands.
“Mike, I’m sorry,” Will says, releasing them without a fight and standing up as Mike stuffs the letters back into the trash hurriedly. He stands up slowly, fists clenched and head down in shame.
A post-epilogue fix-it set one year after the epilogue in which Mike comes to terms with his grief, his sexuality, and eventually his feelings for Will.

Summary
In the van, Mike said it was just dumb luck that Superman landed on his doorstep when he met El. It was ironic, really, because that was how Will felt about the day he met Mike. He was the miraculous, unexpected arrival. He was the boy who sat down beside Will on the swings and made the whole world tilt toward him, bright and possible. They pumped their legs so hard that day, Will was convinced they were going to take off and fly together. Mike had always made him feel like he could do anything. Anything.
Part 5 of 5 follows Will Byers (Vol. 1) and Mike Wheeler (Vol. 2) through one last summer in Hawkins. With Vecna still missing, Max still in a coma, and the town sealed under lockdown, the party prepares for a final fight. As Will begins to understand the truth of his connection to the Upside Down, Mike is forced to confront a truth of his own. Friends don’t lie, but some truths are harder to tell than others.
DISCLAIMER: This work can be read as a standalone story for those who watched Seasons 1-4 of the show.

“But how can Will blame him for that? Friends grow apart. They grow up, and they grow apart, and they get girlfriends and they hang out with their girlfriends and it’s not Mike’s fault that Will can’t understand that yet. It’s not Mike’s fault that Will doesn’t like girls, and this is what he says, and maybe it’s cruel and harsh and unfair, and even though Will is being all of those things too, Mike regrets it the moment it comes out of his mouth.”
OR: five times over 1985-1986 where Mike makes the same mistake, and one time he finally doesn’t.

Summary
Mike's been touching Will, sleeping in the same bed, playing D&D but only the two of them, and calling him beautiful. Will Byers is losing his mind.
Season 5 rewrite (byler, henderhop, steddie) where Will has a gun, Mike becomes a vampire, and the dead are brought back to life to be kissed. Vecna has also decided to play a horrifyingly real game of D&D.
“Hey, look, I’m on my knees, and I’m asking, El, please, I’m asking you, tell me what’s wrong.”
Her fingers are claws, and she stretches them forcefully so they are straight. She will not be upset. There are words she can say to make him stop talking. There are things she can do.
1. Throw him across the room with her mind.
2. Show him Will’s sketch-paper.
3. Ask why Strahd has a boyfriend.
These are all stabby things that will stab Mike. So she says, “I like Dustin. I kissed him, and I like him better.”
