Nowadays, he'd consider these Late Nights a reprieve. It was just him, his thoughts, and a calmer, better world. He'd usually stare up at the ceiling and simply let his imagination wander. He'd picture himself going on walks through the city, wandering through the different districts of Zootopia, not as Pawbert Lynxley, the eternal screw-up of the Lynxley Family, but simply as Pawbert, the Lynx.

Summary
Pawbert Lynxley, after his dramatic and murderous downfall landed him and his family in jail, is on the road to redemption. He’s trying, at the very least. He is recovering, listening, learning, healing, making amends. All the things to put him on the fast track to being a better, partially functioning member of society, if his parole is granted in a few years.
But when a clerical error gets him off scott free, granting him sudden freedom and free reign over the Lynxley fortune and all its assets, including the great Lynxley Manor he and generations of his family were born and raised in, he finds himself struggling to keep on the straight-and-narrow and not fall back into old habits. What horrors await within those frigid halls? What siren song pulls him back to that House? Will Pawbert be able to become the good animal Gary thinks he can be, or will the return to his roots cause him to succumb to greed and the seemingly inherited wickedness of the Lynxley name?

Pawbert has made a lot of mistakes and one of them was hurting the only animal who really trusted and loved him more than his family ever could. Now, Pawbert is in jail regretting and missing his life he had. Can his actions be forgiven? And if it could, who will forgive him? Maybe, his past partner, a snake who believed in him all along could be the one to save Pawbert from his family, and change him for the better.

It's been 3 months since the Lynxley family was revealed to be a bunch of dirty, lying felines who had stolen the credit for the founding of Zootopia, from the snake, Agnes De'Snake. Reptile Ravine has just recently reopened, and the reptile community within Marsh Market is flourishing.
Inside his new home, Gary De'Snake finds himself with too much time and quiet to think. He's missing a warmth he wasn't even sure was real to begin with. He thinks about the hands that held him warmly, and the same hands that threw him into the cold to die.
Pawbert Lynxley sits in a cell trying not to let his mind tear itself apart, thinking of the time ago when he had the temporary comfort of a strange reptile, and the option to betray his own plan in order to keep it. Instead, he followed through, in order to gain approval from a father who might then love him. And now, he had neither.

Pawbert Lynxley has finally come to terms that he won't get anywhere running a wheel towards a goal he'd never reach. Change wasn't possible.
He's come to terms with the truth that everyone is exactly as they are, and there's nothing anyone can do about that. No matter how hard he tried, he would never feel the relief of love from his father, and now he'd have no chance to be in the light of the public eye either.
But that was okay. He was only focused on the attention and affection of one animal anyway.He'd thrown him away once, yes, and that was stupid. But this time he'll stay. It might take some convincing, but now they'll both be able to get away. Forever. Forget all of those past mistakes.
