Instead of leaving for the army after Mickey gets married, Ian and Mandy leave Chicago without plans of coming back.
Mickey misses him, it takes him a week to really start looking for Ian. Months pass, he's beaten up just about everyone Ian has ever slept with and Lip is no help. He calls, he looks, he waits, but he gets nothing for months.
When he finally gets eyes on Ian, he's different. Mickey isn't sure he minds.

I got obsessed with the idea of Joker Ian and Harley Mickey. I read a series, I've seen some stuff on reddit, I'm just in love.
I also love Shameless. Mickey and Ian's story line in the beginning with all the pain and Ian's ability to start the 'Gay Jesus' lmovement later on. I think Ian had a good storm to lead him to becoming "The Joker" and Mickey makes a decent Harley.

He has his ups and downs. During a really bad down period Mickey comes by and Ian actually responds, like starts eating, or Mickey makes a joke about the smell and Ian showers. Ian's family and Mandy are confused cuz theyre just friends, right? Mickey knows about the ups and downs and just treats them like normal moods.

Could be canon compliant I guess but not really. Takes place as if Ian visits Mickey at the abandoned buildings but Mickey does not beat him up. Ian is staying at Mandy's with Lip and witnesses Mickey getting hurt. Soft fluff ensues. I tried to keep them all in character :).
Warning: serious child abuse by Terry at the start so don't read if that triggers you.
Events of 3x06 are implied but not mentioned in any detail whatsoever.
