BENTON
- why indulge him so? He will continue to poison the roots of our nation, he will tear it apart. Why then, sir, is he still given leeway? Why is he allowed to stay and agonize us rest in this wrathful rampage against his own country? Why is he fawned and why do such men- men who perfectly rationally see his despicable beliefs and nature- refuse to end their obsession? Sir, what is the allure, their especial fascination?WEBSTER
Could it be that the idea of appreciation for a man divorced of politics is beyond Senator Benton's understanding? -

Summary
For a blissful moment, Benjamin Brown French found himself oblivious to the way that the eyes of the group of southerners around Calhoun were staring at him. One of them slowly lifted their cane.
Clay opened his mouth wordlessly, giving Webster a disbelieving, flabbergasted gaze.
"Was it-"
"It was his second day."
"Sweet Providence."
Henry Clay threw back his head in a way that made French frown in discomfort. "Oh my Lord, he doesn't know." The Great Compromiser whispered. He struggled to hide his amusement. "He thinks-he's an alpha. Webster, oh my God, my God, Webster, I can't."
Webster answered French when he turned around.
"Senator Calhoun's an omega." Webster explained. His words caused a jolt within French. "You accused him of having an extramarital affair with an alpha. While also making it sound like you were flirting with him yourself."
it takes 12000 words to get to the clayhoun sex so just skip to chapter 2 for that if you're interested?

Summary
Ming Yi pays the price for a certain Calamity's vengeance.
Blackwater Island is not desolate.
It is large enough for seven hundred species of flora and fauna. A quarter of the plants are edible, another quarter is poisonous, and a non-insignificant amount can be used for medicine, potions, spice. The soil is rich and loamy. Where the black waves collide against the sand, the mud is nutrient-rich and red. That is good for building.
Sometimes, Azure Serpent exports plants out. Not often. The Drowning Barrier makes exportation a challenge, and some of the plants are too valuable to just give.
The animals are never exported, though. Save for the birds and the occasional bonefish, no blackwater turtle, three-fingered otter, or hollow-bone snake has ever left the island since their ancestors arrived so long ago. Nothing out, nothing in.
Save for the Calamity himself, Ming Yi might be the first invasive animal to enter
Ten experience from Ming Yi's captivity, and one after.

Summary
This story cannot be a tragedy. You will not die in here.
The Second Crimson-Golden War didn't end at the negotiation table.
It ended in the desert, Golden Star and Crimson Sword's ghost forms all but torn to shreds, whatever spiritual power they had rapidly draining into the desert sand. The pain overwhelms Clay's insides, entire body struggling just to keep power in circulation. His head burns, impossible to keep in focus.
Above them, Clay thinks that he can see a vulture spiral deliriously over them. As if ghosts could leave corpses.
A lesser ghost would have long died in the havoc of battle. Jackson lay beside him in a slightly better state, what looked to be blood spilling from him. It was just an illusion, but Clay figured that for once, the illusion was copying the real situation.
"So why did we do this again?"
a compilation of headcanons.

Summary
A series of cliches, written in the hopes of making it have at least a semblance of realism. This series is not meant as a bashing of any tropes or cliches. This is only for my own amusement.
Also, if you’re looking for any other interesting fics that give new and interesting twists on old cliches, read Broken Bow and The Queen’s Champion. There’s plenty of good godswaps and time travel aus out there already, but I’m not going to get any at the moment.

Summary
“Your Honor, this is a case with far-reaching legal implications. In fact, it cuts to the heart of first amendment protections,” Diane Lockhart said.
“Ms. Lockhart is correct about the far-reaching legal implications, but woefully off-base about the type of implications. This lawsuit has nothing to do with the first amendment, and everything to do with intellectual property rights,” Nancy Crozier counters.
Diane opened her mouth to respond, but was stopped by Judge Claudia Friend. “Counselors,” she said, her hand twitching like she wanted to reach for her gavel but was restraining herself. “This case is about wolf-themed pornography, correct?”
