“How do you get your jollies, Cunningham, c’mon, I won’t tell.” Eddie swipes a cross over his heart, puts his hands together as though in prayer. “You have my solemn oath as a customer service representative.”
Chrissy folds her arms. She’s making that face like she’s trying not to laugh at him again. “What is that, like the Hippocratic oath?”
“No, dummy,” he says, all fondness, “I’m not a doctor.”
“Hm.” Chrissy’s eyes scan the wall. She bobs her head, her mouth quirking in this smarmy little grin she does sometimes that makes him want to do filthy, filthy things to her (like, you know. Kiss her tenderly, slow dance in the kitchen, put a little heart eyes emoji next to her name in his phone… and, fine, so he’s already done that last one, but you get it). “Doctor of looooove, maybe.”
“Oh, you smartass.”
(Eddie works at Hawkins’ resident—ah—adult boutique, and Chrissy sure does like to window-shop.)

Eddie shifts in his seat, drums his fingers against the table. “Look,” he says, “I have this policy where I don’t pry, but it’s just that like, you’re Chrissy Cunningham, you know? Total goody two shoes. And if you want something stronger, I’ll help you, I swear, just…” He pauses again. “Have you tried taking the edge off the old-fashioned way?”
It takes an embarrassingly long moment for her to get it, but when she does, she can feel herself blushing, furious and blotchy all the way up to the roots of her hair.
“Oh,” she squeaks out. “You mean like— like? Sex?”

Summary
Katara has been cruising through her biochemistry degree at Ba Sing Se University, well on her way to medical school, when Organic Chemistry II puts a kink in her plans. The class throws her for a loop, and she spends long hours with the TA, a sweet guy named Haru. Then Haru is out sick, and his inscrutable roommate Zuko fills in for him. Zuko is handsome in a sharp sort of way, if you're into arrogant self-centered assholes, which she's not. Only, he's an excellent teacher, and when he's not being a jerk he is unbearably kind, and he captivates her in a way she can't explain. He throws her for a loop, just like O-Chem, only not like O-Chem at all.
