He almost misses it, it's just so loud every time they're all together. But he doesn't. He, very unfortunately, hears it clearly. Everyone cheers, and Jaemin’s thankful that they’re so loud for once. Because then no one else hears the sound of his heart shattering into a million pieces except him.
"Johnny and I are getting married and everyone's invited. Surprise?" Ten smiles sheepishly.
(Or, Johnny and Ten get married, Jaemin learns to move on the proper way, and Chenle becomes a literal sugar baby.)

Only then does Chenle realize he's completely given up control.
Somehow, he doesn't mind.
Maybe this is exactly what he needs. A break from trying to control everything around him, a break from being the dominant one in social situations, a break from being the one to ask other people to do things. When he's with Jaemin, there's no sense of control, no way to predict what he's going to do or say. At first, Chenle was terrified of it, but now he isn't so sure. Perhaps Jaemin has even more control by giving it up entirely.

jisung bites his lip, "i don't know man, i just think it comes across as a bit, well, pathetic, don't you think?"
"pathetic?"
"yeah, like, you hang off of me all day, make me food, make sure i get home safe… it's like," jisung groans slightly, "i dont think its coming across how i want it to, but, i guess it just comes across like you don't have your own life, you know? ahh, i really don't think i'm explaining well."
"it's okay," jaemin says, he squeezes jisung's hand and doesn't let go. "i get just what you mean." he flashes jisung his usual beaming smile and his heart skips a beat when jisung gives a small smile back. "and we're at your house. so, i guess i'll see you tomorrow, sungie."
he lets go of jisung's hand and turns to walk back the way they just came. he doesn't acknowledge that jisung returns his goodbye, just speeds up his walk, three doors down to his own house. tears begin to leak down his cheeks but he ignores them because he needs to get into his house.

jaemin looks after jisung his whole life, until a misunderstanding makes him decide to give up on his love for him altogether

He knows them inside and out — and anything that isn’t covered in the books is always a keystroke away.And yet absolutely nothing could have prepared him for this.
Sending Donghyuck to kindergarten certainly brings with it a number of challenges Mark feels not at all equipped to handle. One of them is Jaemin.

Alternatively: when intergalactically famous Mark Lee appeared into his life, Jaemin never thought he'd survive the crash — not that that stopped him from stepping down the pedal harder.
