Summary
Vincent’s problem was always the same: he wants.
He wants, he wants, he wants. And no amount of getting or receiving will ever change that fact, will ever close the cavern inside of him that always wants more. Getting is secondary, underwhelming in comparison to the thrill of wanting. Of chasing. When he found something he wanted, he pursued it single-mindedly. He made a plan, he pulled his strings, he put every piece of the puzzle into place. That was when he was on top of the world. Receiving his prize was little more than a participation trophy, and by the time he got it he had usually already found another want. Want, want, want.
Sometimes, at night, he wondered if his luck would run out, and when. What happened when he met someone he couldn’t charm or bully into giving him what he wanted? Who was immune to his silver tongue, his clever quips, his flashy smile or a flirtatious bat of his mismatched eyes? What happened when he took a risk that didn’t pay off?
When Vincent takes a spring break trip to New Orleans to celebrate his upcoming college graduation, he may just find the answer to that question where he least expects it.
And it will alter the course of his life forever.

Summary
You don’t even have the face for TV.
The last words he’d heard played over and over again in his memory. The irony was not lost on him. Ha fucking ha.
In that moment, fueled by his early demise and the bitter satire of the shape of his own head, he decided that he was going to really make something of himself here. He was going to be more famous, more powerful than that fucker had ever been. His skin prickled with what felt like electricity at the thought.

Vox, within his first hours in hell, filled with nothing but greedy ambition, seeks out the most powerful demon in media and asks him for a job.

“You become so — tender,” Alastor reprimands, not un-fondly, turning his head away. There’s some confusion, some wonder in his voice when he strokes Vincent’s face without looking at it, when he adds, as if an afterthought, “You only get soft for me.”

Just for this, he says. As though it’s trivial. As though it isn’t everything that Vox has dreamt of every night for the past several decades. As though the rejection doesn’t sting just as sharply every time he wakes up and reaches to the other side of a cold bed, hands searching for a lover that will never be there, and hears callous laughter echoing in the back of his skull.
Vox sucks in a shaky breath, closing his eyes. He tilts his face downward, unable to look at Alastor when he admits it. He almost can’t bring himself to, sure that Alastor is already certain of the answer.
”Yes,” he whispers.
”You can’t be serious,” Alastor says quietly.

Alastor, when he was young and alive, a livewire rap-tapping across the heated streets, had occasionally envisioned a proper dance partner. A game of tag, a hide-and-seek, a hunt through the iron whorls of his haunted city. A detective hot on his heels. A rival whose on-air turns of phrase were just exquisite. A victim who fought back hard enough to leave him panting.
Entice me, he felt, thrumming under his body, turning him into something dim and open-mouthed and near-salacious. Entice me, somebody entice me, somebody watch me, watch how I move and narrow your eyes and try for me, try, my dear, to figure out just how to make me bend.

Summary
After his big plan to rule the heavens goes down in flames, Vox finds himself powerless and out of luck. With no influence left and nowhere else to go, he somehow ends up at the Hazbin Hotel — and to his absolute horror, he’s stuck working there as the new receptionist.
He hates the job, he hates the guests, and he really hates that deer-looking sinner who won’t stop smirking at him. Most of the others have already lost their patience with him, but Charlie still insists on believing there’s some good left in him.
Of course, just when things couldn’t get worse, new problems start showing up at the hotel... and it doesn’t matter how much Vox complains, he’s getting dragged into it anyway.
