    “Your Highness?” Neuvillette made eye contact with Baizhu, and the doctor placed their hands on his lap, rubbing his knuckles. “Did you need something from me?”

    “Need something?”

    Baizhu nodded. “Was I not sought out for a reason today?”

    The garden rustled peacefully. Neuvillette, as it was, didn’t know why he came to the garden. He happened to see Baizhu and simply followed.

    “No,” Neuvillette admitted. Baizhu tilted his head, and the sovereign said, “I merely came here to be in your company.”

    “If you could get out of here..” He started, sounding more small than he usually did, which was not at all. “What would you do?”

    “Hm.” Aki let his gaze wander down to their hands for a second, a small plea of one day, one day that’d never come. — It was a loaded question. One he had thought over ever since he was hospitalized indefinitely. His answer would’ve been different than the one that surfaced now, the voice in his head that screamed ‘I’d love you loudly.’. Aki is convinced that two years ago he’d have said something stupid, something that wasn’t thought over even if he spent every night thinking of one day.

    “Would you come with me?”
     
    A distant smile, “Sure.”
     
    He inhaled the cold air, thinking it over for a moment again. “Maybe I’d go somewhere, somewhere far away.”

    Gallagher scoffs, staring Sunday down. Sunday looks back, unflinching. Gallagher clicks his tongue, closing the gap between their faces. “Yeah? My betters? Got any good reason you summoned me here then, huh?”

    Sunday bristles. Gallagher barks a laugh, shrugging himself free of Sunday’s grasp with ease and takes a step closer. “Nah, you don’t. You’re just horny.”

    Sunday breathes in through his nose, out through his mouth. He repeats the process several times and quirks a brow at Gallagher once he settles. Focus. He’s trying to throw Sunday off-balance. Sunday will not permit him the gratification, not again. “...I see. This behavior is to be expected of you, but you stoop lower with every word you say.”

    “Yeah, yeah. Quit yappin’ and get to the fuckin’, sunshine, or I’m bending you over your desk.”
