The hilt of Kris’ sword is slick with sweat. They tell themself that it’s only from exertion, and adjust their grip. This will be easy. They’ve already done it once before – the soul made them do it in that video game. They’ve done it once before, so they can do it again. This is barely any different. The others won’t understand it just yet, but this is for their own good, really.
(They know that they can’t look away this time, though. In order to hurt a monster, you need real intent to harm. Everyone knows that.)

The worker, whose name tag reads Megumi Fushiguro, blinks at the scene in front of him with bleary eyes, like he expects the whole thing to be an exhaustion-induced hallucination. When Yuuji, his rose, and the loud music from the JBL fail to disappear, Fushiguro leans out the window to check both sides of the road. Then he pulls back to stare at Yuuji again. “What the fuck,” he repeats.
“Uh…” This was not the plan. The plan was for Yuuji to give the flower to whoever was at the window and pull off. He was not banking on the fact that KFC apparently hired supermodels. Or fallen angels. Fushiguro might be both.

Fushiguro puts a hand to Yuuji’s forehead. To check for a fever. Obviously.
“You feel hot.”
“I feel hot?” Yuuji balks, “No — you’re hot — feel hot — I’m — What? I —”
“That’s enough,” Fushiguro interrupts.
Is it just Yuuji or does Fushiguro look a little flushed too? But that can’t be right. When he was touching him just now his hands felt so icy.
Oh god, he’s starting to hallucinate. It’s never been this bad before. He didn’t even know heat stroke could cause hallucinations.
“I’m taking him to Ieiri.”
Fushiguro heaves him up to standing and threads an arm around his waist. The difference in temperature between Fushiguro’s cold skin and Yuuji’s overheated skin is disorienting. Yuuji puts his arm around Fushiguro’s shoulder. To make it easier for him to help support Yuuji’s weight. Obviously.
As the two of them stumble towards the infirmary, Yuuji hears what sounds like Kugisaki laughing under her breath. He glances back to see if that was real or not, but her mouth is firmly pressed into a smirk.
He’s probably just imagining things again.
OR yuuji learns that heat stroke & a crush on your best friend have a lot of the same symptoms

Satoru looks up from where his hand is reaching out, fighting to keep his eyes open as he turns slightly to where Suguru is standing. “Yeah? I’m fine.”
“Are you…sure? You just look like you’re…going to fall over or something.”
He’s right of course, Satoru wants nothing more than to be horizontal at the moment, but why does he care how Satoru feels right now? When has he ever cared? They’ve never been openly hostile to each other, but they’ve also never been more than classmates, who don’t bother with talking about anything other than school or training or petty arguments about who ate all the chips in the kitchen. (The shared kitchen, Satoru argued. If you don’t want other people to eat your food then don’t put it somewhere that they could get to it.)
aka: satoru and suguru in their first year. satoru has no concept of self-care and suguru has to help him get through a migraine, then some more light angst when suguru is injured on a mission. maybe they fall in love. perchance
