Summary
She's about to turn away when she sees a figure leaning against the wall of the club, looking at her. At almost half her height, the small, unimposing figure leers at her up and down and says, expectedly, “You look lost, girl. Need some help finding your way?”
On any other night, she would’ve sneered and knocked this guy’s lights out just for looking at her like that, but now? She tries to find the place where her fire used to be and finds flickering embers.
“Fuck off,” She mumbles, only finding the strength to speak on autopilot.
He gives her another look, more appraisingly this time. His beady eyes take in her blood-soaked wraps, her clenched fists, and her well-defined shoulders, unusually exposed in the dim light. Unexpectedly, he asks, “You know how to fight, kid?”
Vi blinks dazedly. Almost doesn’t know how to answer. Finally says the words, rolling them around in her dry mouth: “Yeah. Yeah, I know how to fight.”

“Because I don’t — I’m a bad person, Tommy. It doesn’t matter if you believe or not, I just am.” Wilbur can feel his composure slipping, the frustration he’s trying to keep a lid on threatening to shatter. Maybe that’s why he says a little too viciously, “Love doesn’t fucking fix anything.”
“That’s the dumbest fucking thing I’ve ever heard,” Tommy says, fiercely, not missing a beat. There is an echo, somewhere in his words. An echo of an anthem, of a declaration, of the birth of an infant nation. “You sound like a real pussy, Wilbur. A real fucking coward.”
Wilbur bristles. “Tommy —”
“Of course I know you’ve done bad shit, Wilbur,” Tommy interrupts, before Wilbur can say anything. “I’m not a fucking idiot. Did you ever think that I might want to stay with you anyway?”

It happens when he's crouching down, scanning behind the bushes for a sign of anything useful. He pushes himself to his feet and —
Something slams into Wilbur’s back. Hard.
He stumbles forward a bit before every survival instinct he has flips into overdrive —he pulls his hatchet high as he whirls around, aiming his weapon at the new threat that’s coming to hurt him or steal from him or kill him, and god he’s so fucked —
And he comes face to face with a kid.
Said kid is panting, eyes wide with fear, and staring at Wilbur’s axe with sharp, cautious eyes. His hands are raised in the universal position of surrender, and every so often he takes his eyes off Wilbur — Stupid, you never take your eyes off the threat — and glances behind him, almost like he’s waiting for something to come charging up from behind him.
Wilbur hasn’t seen another person in so long. He feels a little breathless.

Summary
Maybe it's something about the way Tommy's holds himself, weirdly shy and so obviously lonely. Maybe it's the way he's been having nightmares nearly every night, screaming so loud it echoed through the whole house. Maybe it's about the visible bags under his eyes, a clear indication that he's still been having nightmares, even if he's long since stopped calling for any of them to comfort him.
Maybe it's because Wilbur's not unfamiliar with the house's dark corners and cold hallways. With the dread that hangs in every doorway, that smothers him when he's sleeping. That feeling of being watched wherever he goes, in a way he'll never be able to shake.
Maybe it's just because Wilbur's his brother, at the end of the day. They're just family.

He wasn’t called on or sought out like the rest of his peers — the only reason he’s even here is because Wilbur refused to come without him, and, well, Tommy guesses they really needed Wilbur.

Summary
Flying back to Cherry Street, weaving reckless in the dark, it comes down to this: Dick is the only one of his siblings that Jason has any real claim on. Dick is the only one of that whole mess of victims to Batman's cult of self-immolation who belongs to Jason. Even more than that - Dick is the only person in the world who he shares a parent with, who knows what it meant to be the Robin to Batman of nearly ten years ago.
It's just not the same anymore.
So if Dick fucking kicks it, Jason's the only one left. Jason becomes an only child. Jason becomes the last of his kind. Jason becomes the sole keeper of that memory, of a brotherhood shared under a man who no longer exists. There is no way to replace Dick, because the world that they lived in together is gone, and can never give Jason a surrogate.
The Red Hood pulls the thread on a mystery big enough to bridge the distance between two cities, two brothers: The plot they unravel is far deeper and darker than a garden-variety drug trafficking scheme. A story about siblingship, hauntings, and rivers.

Summary
Something goes wrong. The crown is split during Narinder's defeat, splitting the power between him and the Lamb.
Narinder keeps a portion of his godhood, and the Lamb finds that abilities they had access to before are no longer possible: Healing is cut short. Powers are halved. And there is a very real chance of perma-death, as the ability to resurrect is not possible without full power, and the God of Death is not cooperative.
Afterlife and Purgatory are not options either. Dying means erasure. Gone.Lambert knows Narinder grows stronger by the day, crown or not, and yet keeps him spared as they try to figure out how to complete their own goals. Narinder vows vengeance on the lamb for usurping him. After a few unsuccessful murder attempts, he's in for the long haul. It is only a matter of time before the Lamb's guard is down before he can strike, and The One Who Waits is very patient. When a mystic being demands they save the bishops from purgatory, an alliance is in order.
Except...the lamb's actions and their presence begin to unlock abilities within the God of Death he didn't know he had prior to his imprisonment, among other fickle things, like emotions. The prophecy didn't warn him of that part.
