The safety that Kaeya had been feeling, the calm - in a moment all of it is gone.
In a moment the ground is back to being unsteady behind him. In a moment he's eight years old again, being dragged back to a city he didn't belong to by his ear, because no one in his life can let Kaeya just live.

Summary
Humans can make out patterns out of nothing. Like discovering shapes in the cloud, or images between the stars. If you listen to static noise long enough they start to form meaningful words, even when there isn’t any.
This is the closest approximation to how Ichiji feels things.
It is almost fascinating, then, for him, to watch Sanji, who seems to feel everything with his entire being, so visceral and open and raw.

Summary
Jean has long since made her peace with never truly understanding Kaeya Alberich. Even so, she trusts Kaeya implicitly, and Kaeya returns that trust with a single-minded dedication to Mondstadt. And nowhere is this shared trust more on display than when he's let off the leash - to work under cover of night, watched only by the winds, putting down problems in the Ordo before they ever rise to Jean's level of notice.
This is one such time.

“As an Alberich, you must overcome your emotions,” a man whispered as he guided a stumbling boy in the dark.
“Us Raginvindrs are the teary sort I'm afraid,” another man laughed, patting a different teary-eyed boy with a laugh.
Kaeya closed his eyes against the memories, listening to the music start. So different yet similar in the end—neither of them were impervious to the dark call of the Abyss.

Kaeya, fallen victim to an unfortunate laboratory incident, has been reverted to his 11 year old self. Diluc is stuck with the consequences.
