His fingers quickly latched to his cape’s golden trimmings, bunching the fabric into tight fists in his gloves. The strong grip kept the rest of him from flinching, but he couldn’t stop the twitch that rippled down his pointed ears. He curved his mouth into a frown and quietly cursed whoever leaked his given name.
“Hunt—”
“Stop,” he snapped, his biceps straining against the abomination restraints. “Stop calling me that, human. You don’t get to call me that.”

Summary
An assignment as the personal escort of the Golden Guard himself doesn't sound too shabby- especially when you've got exceptional abilities to back you up. But reading minds isn't quite as useful as everyone makes it out to be, and your new charge is as bitter and unpredictable as he is endearing. Worse yet, he seems just as incapable of figuring himself out as you are.
