Summary
Ilya approached the logistics of Shane's pregnancy the same way he approached hockey seasons, with an almost alarming level of dedication.
It started with a notebook Ilya bought on a whim while grocery shopping. The actual notebook was thick and the cover of it was yellow, a small lilac flower was sewn in on the front. He tucked it carefully into the kitchen drawer where Shane usually kept takeout menus. Inside the notebook, Ilya had written everything important down; appointment dates which were circled twice with a striking red pen, doctor's names which he underlined, questions written in Russian that he wanted to ask at the next check-up, websites and shops he heard were useful and good for the pup products and furniture, supplements and vitamins Shane's doctor mentioned at their last appointment.
And he color-coded it eventually with markers and pens he ordered online. Red was for medical appointments and check-ups, blue was for supplements and vitamins, green was for anything Shane mentioned offhand and then forgot five minutes later, and yellow was for everything related to pup food, clothes and furniture.

If the Bureau has a Standard Operating Procedure in place, to direct him on what to do in the extremely unlikely event he crash lands on a deserted island with a highly dangerous criminal, he’s never read it.
Other than sit tight and wait for rescue (and keep an eye on Seungcheol in case he somehow succeeds in building a raft and rowing away) he’s at a loss.It certainly doesn’t help that Seungcheol doesn’t see himself as a prisoner, and thus fails to subscribe to any of the typical prisoner behaviours one would expect. Sure, he might fashion himself a wicked looking knife out of scrap metal and leather, spend an hour sharpening it while he stares menacingly into the middle distance, but then he’ll go use that knife to make Jihoon a parasol out of palm tree fronds and insist he sit under it because—
“No offence, but you’re paler than a daikon radish. Until we get our hands on some sun block, you need to stay in the shade. In fact, here, take my shirt.”
It seems stupid to stay on your toes around a guy who is literally prepared to give you the shirt off his back.

Jihoon does not trust his voice to come out acquiescing, but he manages a smile and a nod, which seems to be all the deference Mr Jeon wants or expects from him at this juncture.
There will be plenty of time to question the need for such silly rules later, once he’s more settled. No sense in creating a stir on his first day!
