Cole shrugs, spreading his hands. "So show us all what you can do."
"Yeah." Sonya leans forward, elbows on her knees, and sends Cole a quick, conspiratorial little grin. "Give us something to aspire to."
Kung Lao looks back at Liu Kang, and there's a brief, entirely wordless exchange of quirked eyebrows and tilted heads, after which they both walk out onto the sand.

“Well, this is a surprise,” Kung Lao says when he walks into his room to find Liu Kang kneeling by the foot of the bed, shirtless and barefoot, his arms clasped behind him and his gaze lowered.
It’s not—not when Liu Kang has been sharing his bed for close to a year, and not when they’d talked through this exact scenario earlier. But feigning surprise is part of the game, as is the way Liu Kang darts a glance up through his eyelashes and then bows his head.

Kung Lao could kiss him, so easily. They sit close together, Liu Kang still holding Kung Lao's injured hand, the warmth in his eyes and the curve of his lips inviting. It would be so easy for Kung Lao to lean in, to press his mouth to Liu Kang's.

When Frank, a sickly young man, is advised by his doctors to leave London for the country, he makes arrangements to stay with his friend Michael, who just so happens to be in possession of a large, old, and somewhat creepy manor house. What Frank has no idea of at the time is that Michael has an older brother, whose presence in the house he conceals. Gerard is an eccentric recluse who spends most of his time hiding in the attic and avoiding any kind of interaction with people, but he finds himself fascinated with Frank, who in turn realizes that the house has secrets, and becomes determined to uncover them. When he finally does discover Gerard, their first meeting is only the beginning of their story.
