A second hand joined the first, and then at last, a little face appeared.

He’s just a guy she’s sleeping with, a guy that raises her son and takes care of her home and is a nanny but not really. Scaramouche does gardening and plumbing and other things for free, but not really, too.
Cleaning the kitchen counters until they squeak, he would never be able to do domesticity, Scaramouche thinks.

It’s selfish, he knows it. But he’s always been selfish. Always wanted more than he ever should have even hoped for. It’s how he made it out of the abyss at fourteen, barely more than a boy. It’s how he faced off against the strongest woman he’s ever met and dared to call her a friend after.
Childe wants to keep her. Wants, selfishly, hopelessly, for her to stay with him. Even if he has to claw his way to Celestia for it.
“Please,” he whispers. “Please stay.”
