___Jayce’s gloved fingers traced its surface for some reassurance. The weight of his helmet tugged at the top of his head, and he was conscious of every breath he took. Outside, the world was a chaotic blur: hurrying mechanics, waved flags, cameras clicking away to frame the scene.

“I don’t know you, Viktor,” her tone was joking, but what she said was true; they had barely met, after all. “I don’t know your prospective on things. The only real thing I know about you is that you have great hands– for building things and useless tricks, you know?” she smirked.
That was it. That was the moment he knew he had to take, a surge of confidence making him sit up straight.
“Would you like to? Get to know me, I mean.”
The sun had almost set, a ray of golden light directly illuminating her eyes. She had freckles, he noticed. There was no coming back from this, but Viktor was sure his instincts were right. He had seen her frown disappear once she’d recognized him in the library, he had felt the gentle squeeze of her hand on his bicep. He had noticed her eyes lingering on the beauty mark on his top lip.
“Is it worth it?” she asked, her smile deepening.
“Definitely.”

Both teens coming to a frustrating halt with themselves, each wanting to forget about the waging war and anything to do with avatar, if only just for a moment to feel like normal teenagers. So when the spirits allow them to, if for a moment, just feel normal, they let themselves get caught up in the moment to even contemplate their actions could have life changing consequences. Soon both are forced to deal with the new life they've made while trying to keep their secrets from stretching too far before the war can come to an end.
