“Well, Lieutenant, we found him across from the run down chemical manufacturer in the Narrows.”
Gordon jerked his head to stare at Officer Saurel; Bruce was staring as well, accidentally meeting Gordon’s eyes from his position over Saurel’s shoulder. Gordon frowned, raising an eyebrow, prompting Bruce to not-so-subtly skirt away. Bruce sighed, glancing back and watching as Gordon led Saurel towards the entrance of the gala.
Thankfully Bruce Wayne was ignored, but Bruce clenched his jaw; the signal would almost definitely be lit within the next thirty minutes, while Bruce was stuck wandering around the irrelevant gala.
The worst part was that Gordon would not do it without Batman. When they worked on a case as complex and important as this, they had silently agreed months ago to keep the other in the loop.
Therefore, Bruce Wayne was actively preventing justice from being served. Allowing innocent people to keep dying.

Summary
If you asked Ryland, his brother was pretty stupid. Once they mutually got over the shock of each other being stuck, doomed to die in space, Ryland had awkwardly suggested, “So… do you want a tour?”
Colt had shrugged, “Sure, it’s not like Stratt thought to give me the floor plan.”
So, case in point: Colt was stupid. How could he give up the rest of his life? Colt had acted before thinking, displaying his common disregard for his own mortality. Accepting the terms and conditions without a second thought and not knowing much of anything about the project was crazy. Ryland wanted to strangle him.
And then Ryland almost immediately contradicts himself. Watching Colt settle into the pilot chair, Rocky darting around and pointing out buttons—selfishly, Ryland felt his world click into place. Now that Colt was here and his conflicting memories were back, it was like the pieces that made Ryland Dr. Ryland Grace had finally fit together.

Summary
After weeks of an unimaginable journey, he finally remembers how he got into space. He ends up back at the mirror in the bathroom before he goes to say bye to Rocky, questioning every memory he had reconstructed his identity with. Who was Ryland Grace? All he was sure of was that Ryland Grace was a coward.
Tears run down his cheeks and Grace splashes water in his face. Rocky’s waiting, he reminds himself. He scrubs at his eyes, blinking them open to find his head inches away from the glass.
He notices the mole first, of course, then his imagination conjures up the makeshift handle of the Big Dipper that extends from the mole to the first cluster of freckles on his left cheek. His brain helpfully identifies the rest of the constellations he mapped out years ago, stretching across cheek to cheek.
After a few moments of staring, his heart clenching at the swirl of emotions in his head, he blinks hard and amends his statement from earlier: Ryland Grace was a coward, but a coward compelled to the stars.

“Y’know, Six, if I had known you had such good genes I would have tracked you down earlier.”
Six forced his face and voice to stay neutral. “What?”
“I’m not personally escorting them, but my people informed me of a…” Hansen pauses, seemingly looking for information. Six’s gut is always right, and there was a rock settling in the pit of his stomach. “Colt Seavers and Ryland Grace. Who knew Sierra had family?” A cold laugh echoed through the phone. “I’ll see you soon, Six. Family reunion! How exciting.”
The line went dead. Six was still, except for his right hand slowly crushing the phone held to his ear. He would need to get rid of it anyway.
This stupid fucking USB. He wanted to burn it.
Glass crunched in his fist, the phone irreparable. God, he was going to fucking murder Lloyd Hansen.
He brought the phone down, staring at it. The screen had faded to darkness.

Summary
Considering they were only a couple months on their almost four year journey to Erid, Grace shouldn’t already be worrying about his first impressions. Well, he was. Sue him.
“Hey Rocky?”
Rocky was tinkering away with who-knows-what. Last time Grace asked, Rocky gave him some long-winded answer that eventually shortened to “Eridian engineering practice.” Whatever that meant.
As Grace speaks, Rocky does not stop what he is doing. Why would he? Grace often talked about everything and nothing all at once. Sometimes just to fill the silence.
Grace had been sitting in one of the only chairs with a backrest, propping his feet upon a stool in the lab and idly scrolling on a laptop. Now, he planted his feet on the ground, set the laptop on the table, and wrung his hands in front of him to give himself something to do. Grace continued, “Do you think Eridians will like humans?”

Summary
The man standing in front of him was definitely a clone, alright. His hair was surprisingly shorter than Grace’s had been when he woke up. Maybe he found the scissors already. He had something closer to a beard than stubble. His nose was more crooked than Grace’s. He was wearing some of Grace’s clothes, frankly looking ridiculous in a Cats t-shirt and red jumpsuit tied at his waist.
His expression was surprisingly neutral, hands raised slightly to signify he wasn’t dangerous. “Ry?”
Grace probably looked stupid, mouth opening and closing like a fish.
“It’s me, Colt. Do you remember me?” Colt shifted his weight between his legs, nervous in a way that didn’t seem natural to a man like him.
The words on Grace’s tongue died out. His heart beat faster, his brain reaching for a memory. One second he’s on the Hail Mary, the next he’s back on Earth.

Summary
Flux picked up the pace, jogging to keep up with Saps. His white, long braid bounced in time with his steps. Absentmindedly, Flux noticed it was in need of a rebraid, loose and messy from Saps’ stunt in prison. Idiot, he smiled to himself. He should’ve known that Saps would cause trouble the moment he arrived. He was surprised that Saps had escaped at all, well, considering.
The giddiness faded shortly after as distant shouts sounded behind them. He broke into a run, risking a glance back. “Fuck,” he muttered, several of Solev’s armored guards chasing after them.
“Saps,” He warned, a desperate plea intertwining with his voice.
Dread settled in his stomach as he watched Saps’ realization and shouts of “It wasn’t me!” fill the air. The guards gained ground, passing him as Saps frantically veered into a house and trapped himself.
They were supposed to lay low. Build a life with their restaurant. Together. On the same side. After last time–

Anticipating the worst, Saps called, “Let’s make this a fair fight, okay?”
No response, Flux still messing with the crafting table.
“Flux. Look at all these people, dying because of you,” Saps gestured to his wrist, where chat was a constant stream of death messages.”
Saps watched as Flux flinched at his words, the result of Saps’ reminder. Unsurprisingly, sorrow filled his bones instead of satisfaction at Flux’s guilt. He had forgiven Flux seconds after he had realized Flux’s betrayal. Forgiveness coincided with love; in a way, Saps reasoned, Flux’s ideals overcame him like a sickness. In sickness and in health. Til death do us part.

“Did you just call Impulse Gemstone?” Gem interrupts the silence, to Impulse’s horror.
In an effort to conceal his true reaction, Impulse speaks up, “He did, I feel so special.”
Impulse watches as Skizz mirrors his earlier freak out, immediately lowering the camera from his face and frowning. His sentence is interrupted by Skizz protesting, “I thought Gem had the lighter!”
Skizz puts his hands on his hips, forgoing any attempts to continue investigating the ghost. Impulse watches with horrific satisfaction as Skizz gets flustered, a very rare moment. Skizz repeats himself, “I thought Gem had the lighter,” as Impulse can feel a smirk growing on his face and Gem is dying of laughter next to him.

Etho pauses, actually considering Bdubs’s observation. He supposes that his hair was pretty long, and once it gets that long it definitely means that his dark brown roots were showing. “And I suppose that you’re just the man for the job?” Etho raises an eyebrow, looking Bdubs up and down.
