Summary
It's almost Snowdown, and with the help of mulled wine, Viktor mentions something he's been mulling over
“I would like a movie Snowdown, one day,” Viktor says, eyes bright but mouth almost entirely obscured by the maroon scarf Ximena had knit for him two winters previously. “Something romantic.”
Jayce snorts. “You want to leave your big city partner for a rugged man in some quaint small town?”
“Maybe I want to be the rugged local,” Viktor whines, leaning his shoulder further into Jayce’s as they watch an ice skater fumble from the comfort of their nearby bench. “Maybe I want to kiss you under a tree. With the lights. And snow.”

Summary
Jayce looks as trepidatious as he always does when he has something to say that Viktor is not going to enjoy hearing.
Jayce is not saying anything, however. Cast in the golden light of dawn streaming in through the high windows of their laboratory, Jayce is simply waiting.
Which is ominous, yes, but also kind of him. Considerate.
It is early. Too early. Viktor hasn’t even had his tea yet.

Summary
Some voices just sound like others. There’s no way Viktor is the same person whose voice has been conducting Jayce’s body through a week-long marathon of self-discovery because Jayce, at age twenty-eight, had finally discovered audio erotica.
Viktor’s voice just sounds really similar to the Machine_Herald’s.
Almost impossibly similar.
Coincidence. Total coincidence.
Or: after months of email collaboration, Jayce meets his engineering partner in person to try out Viktor's stabilization theorem.

Summary
“I think we should go to the beach together,” Jayce says, in a rushed sentence.
Then Jayce adds, “To study.”
And then, after another beat, Jayce concludes, “Crustaceans.”
Viktor stares. Then clarifies, bewildered, “For the Hexclaw?”
“Yeah,” Jayce says, gripping the back of his neck. Viktor notes that Jayce is not far off from the color of a steamed crustacean himself, at the moment. “For the Hexclaw.”

Summary
When five-year-old Jayce asks Santa Claus to bring him a boyfriend for Christmas, Santa tells him that it just won't be possible, not for years and years, thereby confirming Jayce's suspicions that Santa isn't real. A real Santa, he reasons, could do anything,, even bring Jayce's destined true love to him.
But perhaps young Jayce's heartbreak is premature, and perhaps Santa's Workshop is even weirder and more wonderful than Jayce could know. Twenty years later, he wakes up Christmas morning to find a man in his mother's kitchen who claims to be his boyfriend wish come true. Viktor was, he explains to Jayce, literally created to be Jayce's soulmate.
Which, Jayce realizes, means that Viktor had no choice in the matter.

Summary
Jayce's life wasn't great, but it was good enough -- he had a job as an engineer at the trainyard, a little house in Piltover that he'd inherited from his parents, and a silver pocketwatch that had been a gift from Mel, the smuggler who was his friend and occasional fling. That all changed when his train was robbed and Jayce himself was taken for ransom. Chained to a bed in the clinic, Jayce is prepared to hate the doctor aiding and abetting his imprisonment, but he soon learns that not everything in the small mining town of Zaun is controlled by the criminal gang that makes its headquarters there.
As the only man in Zaun with any real medical training, Viktor has his hands full. If it isn't miners falling prey to old and failing equipment and an utter lack of regard for safety by the mine's owners, then it's the roughneck crew of criminals who keep the town running. There's got to be a better way to live, but Viktor is too exhausted and overworked to figure it out. He's definitely too busy for romance, and even if he had the time, it wouldn't be with the naive and annoying Piltie who's been dumped into his lap while the Eye and the Hound decide how to squeeze a ransom out of the man.
