It was supposed to be another boring, straightforward mission. Protect the Crown Prince of Ticust, Bastien Kamau Naserian, from any assassination attempts, hand him back to his security detail in one piece, go home, and forget about it.
Yelena Belova knows how to do that in her sleep.
What she doesn’t expect is for him to show up in the New Avengers’ communal kitchen days later and a ridiculous proposal on his tongue. Guard him for the rest of his stay in New York. Spend time together. “Get to know each other better.” And if he wins her heart, maybe she’ll follow him back to Ticust and become his queen.
On the sidelines, Bob—unkillable, unshakeable, very much not okay—finds out the hard way that jealousy and godhood don’t mix. He doesn’t know if he has any right to be jealous of a prince offering Yelena a crown, but he does know he won’t survive watching her even consider saying yes.

He sits upright like a lightning bolt has hit him.
“You...you still want to fuck me”, he whispers.

It's their last night on earth and finally Dean and Castiel allow themselves to give in to what has been between them for years now. It doesn't matter if that would complicate things between them. They're gonna die anyway, right?

Depending on who you ask, it can mean many different things.
Sometimes it’s literal—a physical blanket or a stuffed animal—but it can also be something less tangible, like a favorite show you return to when you need to feel at ease. It’s mostly metaphorical, and when Bob reads the definition, his mind immediately goes to Yelena.
Can a person be someone else’s comfort blanket?Because if that’s so, Bob would proudly say that Yelena was his. There’s no place in this entire world than having her in his arms. Nowhere else would make him feel as at home as he did with her.
Yet…he’s not Yelena’s comfort blanket, was he?
Or: Yelena mentioned that she has a comfort blanket, and Bob couldn’t stop thinking about it (not that he’s jealous, that’s ridiculous).

Dean’s sitting at the kitchen table with Sam when his phone rings. Jody’s name flashes across the screen and he considers not picking up. It’s not like Dean doesn’t want to talk to Jody, it's just that he can’t bear talking to anyone these days.
“Hi, Jody,” Sam says.
“Howdy, boys.” She asks them to take over a case. Something about werewolves. Dean doubts they will, Sam hasn’t let him pick up a gun in months, not since their last hunt.
Jody’s voice cuts through the phone. “Alright, if you boys don’t wanna take the case, I’ll see if Castiel will, but I think he’s helping Claire in Colorado–”
Dean doesn’t hear a damn thing after that, and by the looks of it, Sam doesn’t either. For the first time in days, Dean opens his mouth and speaks. “Cas is alive?”
Jody’s voice is quiet on the other end. “He didn’t tell you?”

In the weeks after Cas' death, right up until he comes back, Dean manages to convince himself that Cas' confession wasn't romantic. Because if Cas meant it romantically- he would've. He would've kissed Dean, right? If Cas meant it That Way and he knew that he was going to die, he would've pulled Dean in for one final kiss, right?
He would've let Cas kiss him, Dean thinks. It's the least he could do, after all.
Wait. Shit. Did he want Cas to kiss him?
(Or: Dean watches too many movies and tries to give Cas an "in" to kiss him after he comes back- just to confirm the nature of Cas' confession for himself, of course. He tries not to think about it too hard.)
