Chapter Text
Wilbur could say he used to be someone who liked space.
Having a bad case of insomnia and living on the streets, looking at the star filled sky was the only thing he could do while lying there. However, this nearly always lead to him getting lost in his head and spiralling into a dark place.
No matter how pretty the sky was, it couldn’t stop him from remembering how pathetic he was. That if he just worked harder or tried better he could be a useful member of society. That it was nobodies fault but his that he was suffering.
Those nights always ended with cuts on his body and unbearable self hatred, making an empty promise to himself to stop hurting himself. Sometimes he hoped he wouldn’t see the sunrise, only to feel disappointed to live another day.
Space didn’t become an enjoyable thing until Tommy, who had as bad of a case of insomnia as Wilbur, came into his life. It was hard to spiral when you were arguing with a teen that “no, that stat constellation doesn’t look like a cock”.
It didn’t stop Wilbur from cutting or getting unwanted thoughts, but Tommy was enough of a reason for him to keep on living.
But space stopped being enjoyable a long time ago.
About a year and a half ago, Wilbur and Tommy were taken from earth by aliens. Wilbur tried his hardest to keep those things away from Tommy, but as usual it wasn’t good enough and they both got captured.
Wilbur didn’t like to think about what they did to them. But throughout the whole time they were stuck there, Wilbur would rather be in paralysing pain for months than have to hear his brothers bloodcurdling screams.
A year and a half ago they were abducted by aliens, but a week ago Wilbur successfully crashed the ship and killed the aliens.
Now they were stuck on a planet billions of light years away from earth, Wilbur trying desperately to figure out what to do and to keep Tommy from dying of some sort of alien illness.
God, what the fuck was Wilbur gonna do?
