Summary
Arthur Pendragon and Merlin Emrys are best friends. They have been since Eton — where one of them arrived at thirteen because all Pendragon men do, and the other arrived at fifteen on a scholarship and never quite stopped being the boy who arrived on a scholarship.
It is Valentine’s Day 2023. Neither of them has a date, obviously. So they are having dinner, as they do, as they always have; and Merlin is going to tell Arthur that he has applied for a job in Cardiff; and he has forty-four days left in which to do it.
Three years. Two cities. One A&E department, one law firm with Arthur’s father’s name on the door, and every secret the Pendragons have ever paid to keep quiet.They both live. They end up together. It takes some doing.
