Chapter Text
Sun wasn't one to get angry.
Sure, he could get mad about things. He could get angry at a troublemaker for intentionally going against his rules. He could get annoyed with Moon and his teasing, though that was all in good fun. He could feel slighted by the staff when they would insult him when they thought he wasn't listening.
That was all stuff he could feel bitter about.
But rarely, if ever, had Sun felt FURIOUS .
He was, what most would consider, a pushover. Spineless and meek, too scared to show any aggression towards anyone.
But when he heard about what Marigold had said…
He was FUCKING PISSED!
The conversation had been playing over and over in his head as he was walking towards her mother for a little chat.
"Hey there, Sweetie! What's wrong? Maika said you were crying and didn't want to leave."
"I WANNA STAY HERE!!! I DON'T WANNA GO HOME!!!"
"But why? You have to go home. Your mommy is waiting for you at th-"
"NO!!! PLEASE!!! PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME GO WITH HER!!!"
"Huh…? Wh-why? Is… is there something wrong?"
"I have so much fun here! Everyone is really nice to me and I get to play! I have to do so many chores at home! I always have to pick up mom's trash and clean the house! She never plays with me because she's always playing with her friends! And why can she have boys for friends and I can't?! And she's really mean!"
"... Um… m-may I ask, Marigold, how is she mean? What does she do?"
"She's always yelling at me and telling me I'm in the way. She says I'm a waste of money. She makes me clean to make up for it."
"That's awful! Don't you have anyone else in the home?"
"N-n-no! Daddy left mom and me! M-mom says it's because I came and I drove him away!"
Everything after that was just a blur of crying and begging. He could still hear those hurtful insults Marigold told him her mom had said. It was awful. It was downright evil.
And he was enraged.
He had to collect himself and be talked down from a rage induced semi-panic attack by Moon. He felt this seething rage inside him that, seemingly, came out of nowhere. It wasn't like abuse like this was new. Bad parents came to the pizza 'plex all the time.
But something about how desperate she was to not go with her mom and the way she spoke about her home life… it made him see red.
So, before asking Marigold's mother to speak with him for a moment, he had to make a quick call to the security guard watching over the daycare cameras.
He only had two questions.
One: What's your opinion on child abuse?
And two: What's your tolerance level to cuss words?
After getting some very promising answers, he went ahead and pulled the woman aside.
"Excuse me, ma'am!"
"What?" She spat with the patience of a hungry hyena in front of a pile of delicious hotdogs.
"I need to talk with you for a moment. It's about your daughter. There… is an issue surrounding her right now."
"Of course there is. That child is never up to any good. What did that brat do?"
Sun had to use all his willpower to suppress the urge to strangle this woman.
'Don't worry, Sunny. You got this.'
'Yes I do.'
"Well, I don't want to cause a ruckus around the other parents with such news! Plus, it might be a little embarrassing. How about we head somewhere private to quickly go over it?"
"Oh shit. Right. Forgot people might hear about my dumb kid's antics. Yeah, let's go somewhere else."
" . . . Wonderful! Right this way, ma'am!"
He started heading off with her, keeping his cheerful tone and mannerisms as well as he could. It was like he was acting, but he was acting as himself. Or rather, acting as what people perceive him as. He bounced ahead and swayed his head. Meanwhile, inside, he had already reached his breaking point. He had gone beyond the point of no return.
Sun had made his decision.
He watched as the big doors slid open for him and the lady behind him, moving aside and gesturing for her to go ahead.
"Here you go, ma'am! After you!"
"Thanks" she responded coldly as she entered, really not sounding sincere about it. He just hummed, knowing the ruder she was, the sweeter this would be.
"Ok! Now tell me what the fu-gh! What in the world my brat did! Did she break something?! Because I am NOT paying damages if so!"
Sun walked inside and delighted in the sound of the doors shutting behind him. He walked up to her slowly, chuckling in a low hum as he did.
"Oh no, ma'am. Not at all. In fact, she hasn't done anything wrong at all. She is a perfect, wonderful, sweet and polite little lady. A pleasure to have here."
"Heh. Yeah right. Then why did you tell me she got in trouble?"
That laugh pissed Sunny off beyond words. It was so sarcastic and filled with venom.
"See, you're assuming she's the perpetrator of the problem. That's interesting, and wrong. Rather, she's the victim in this case."
"Ok? What? Did she cry about a boy pulling her hair or something? Don't bother me if it's something so minor!"
"Oh… oh no. It's not minor at all. In fact, it's a very big deal. You see, I was told some… interesting stuff earlier. Someone informed me that you have been… shall we say rude?"
"What are you implying?! Are you saying someone reported me for being rude?! Which one of those sensitive snowflakes said that?!"
"Oh! I couldn't possibly tell you that! But what I can tell you… is that here at the Superstar Daycare, we don't tolerate awful, disgusting, abusive PIECES OF SHIT! "
The woman gasped, taken aback by his cheerful, upbeat voice mixed with that nasty insult.
"Wha-?!? H-h-how DARE you talk to me that way?! You're not allowed to-"
"Shut up, bitch! I'm not finished talking! Marigold is an amazing, wonderful, precious, sweet little treasure! She never does anything wrong, she's always polite and friendly, helps whenever she can and has gotten really close with Maika since she got here! She's nothing but a joy to have here! And the fact that you can look at that adorable face and spew your mouth diarrhea at her makes me want to vomit! You're a fucking disgrace to humankind!"
Sun continued with the happy-go-lucky attitude as he spoke, though it broke down more and more as he continued, turning bitter and hateful.
"YOU BASTARD!!! YOU CAN'T TALK LIKE THAT TO A CUSTOMER!!! IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS WHA-"
"I just said I'm not finished! Are you fucking deaf? Or are you just too busy shoving a dick into every available hole you have? That might explain why your husband left you! Along with that putrid attitude of yours!"
"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME, YOU MOTHERFUCKER?! I'M NOT LETTING A TALKING VIBRATOR MAKE FUN OF ME LIKE THAT!!!"
She rushed at Sun and raised her hand at him, clearly ready to hit him or push him. But he was fast enough to catch her hand before it made contact.
"DON'T TOUCH ME!!! GET ME A HUMAN EMPLOYEE IMMEDIATELY SO I CAN HAVE YOU PUT DOWN FOR BEING A DANGER TO CHILDREN!!!"
Sunny just tilted his head at her, not saying anything for the longest time. Then he started laughing, first softly, menacingly, then it was a kind of scary cackle before he finally calmed down.
"Oh you poor, poor, brain-dead idiot. You shouldn't have done that. Damaging company property is strictly against the rules~" he teased impishly.
She stared at him in shock, trying to pry her hand free from his grip.
"ME?! I broke the rules?! You've broken several rules! You're keeping me here against my will, you're physically restraining me and you're verbally harassing me! You're going to be replaced for this!"
"Oh silly little cunt. I am following the rules perfectly. See, if we suspect someone of being a criminal, we are allowed to keep them from leaving until the police arrive to question them. If they display aggressive or violent behavior, we may break the no touching rule in case of the need for self-defense.
So you see, I'm not doing anything wrong. I'm just being a law-abiding robot!"
"Law-abiding my ass! You never said why you're justified with insulting me! You don't have an excuse, do you?! I can still report you for that!"
"Well… yes, you are correct. There aren't any exceptions to the rules of language use and politeness. We aren't exactly allowed to insult a customer or another human during company hours. But… Here's the thing…"
Sun leaned down towards the woman, face hovering only a few mere inches away from hers. His voice sank into a low, gravely whisper as he finished his sentence.
"… No one would ever believe you."
He finally released her hand, allowing her to back away against the wall. She stared at him in fear and confusion.
"Wh… what…?"
"I must not have introduced myself!" His voice returned to its usual cheery and peppy tone.
"Hello! My name is Sun! Aka, Sunny. Aka, Sundrop. Aka… Mr. Goody Two Shoes. Mr. Oblivious! Mr. Good boy! Mr. Pushover!
I'm known around the pizza 'plex for never breaking the rules. For being too scared to ever as much as question another person. They call me a wimp! Naive! A bit of a prude. They often say 'That Sunny would feel bad even saying the word heck'."
He walked up to the lady again, cornering her as he loomed above her, exuding hate and hostility. She had to crane her neck back in order to look him in the face.
"I've gathered enough good boy points to be able to commit murder without anyone as much as suspecting me! But… I'm still not a fucking piece of disgusting filth like you. I would never hurt someone. Unlike, again, you.
You hurt Marigold. You ruined her self-esteem. You made her scared of her own home. You made her believe that her being born was the reason her father left. Only the biggest asshole in the world would do something like that. A real whore of a mother!"
Sunny then suddenly bashed both his hands into the wall on either side of her, making her yelp in terror and shrink together. She stared at him as he leaned in close again, growling angrily.
"So… I'm ready to exact some PUNISHMENT on you for your nasty ass treatment of such an angel! I will break you with every word in the lexicon! I'm about to make a lyrical adaptation of Nicholas maw's 'Odyssey', using my prohibited language filter as a fucking lyric sheet!!! "
He glared her down, feeling a great sense of catharsis from the horrified expression that spread across her face as he prepared his onslaught.
*~*~*
"Sooooo… why did you drag me here? Where's that thing I'd want to see?" Monty asked as he followed a security guard into the surveillance station, looking around curiously. The guard simply smirked and walked over to the desk, bringing out his tablet. He flicked through some cameras in silence. Monty just wandered over and looked at him annoyed.
"Seriously? Ya ain't even gonna tell me? I got work to do, ya know? I don't wanna get in trouble for nothin'!"
The guard turned around towards him and grinned proudly.
"Oh trust me, you won't wanna miss this!"
"Is this the feed of the daycare? Wh-what do you think I'd be so interested in seeing here?" He tried to hide his embarrassment.
"Don't worry! I'll bring it up on the big screen. Just pay attention~."
He groaned and rolled his eyes, already unhappy with the employees seemingly having caught on to his friendship with Sun. But he was morbidly curious, so he didn't do much other than comply.
The big screen turned on, displaying a private room with a person in it, probably a patreon, and Sun. Sunny was pacing around and gesturing his hands wildly in the air, looking pretty agitated.
Monty felt a surge of concern through his body, looking between the screen and the guard.
"Chill. Let me enable audio."
He leaned over and pushed a button on the console, then leaned back and put his feet up, looking very satisfied with himself as the speakers boomed with sound.
"-GUSTING, MOST DETESTABLE PARENT I'VE EVER HAD THE DISPLEASURE OF DEALING WITH!!! WHAT TYPE OF SICK FUCKING MOTHER TREATS HER SWEET LITTLE DAUGHTER LIKE THAT!?! MAKING HER CLEAN UP THE SHIT STAINED HOUSE YOU CAUSED WHILE YOU ARE BUSY TAKING THIRTY DICKS AT ONCE INTO YOUR GAPING MAW OF A COOCH!!!"
As soon as Monty heard Sun shouting his head off, his jaw dropped open wide and he just stared in disbelief. Sun, the sweet and polite bot he knows and loves, was going off on a tirade of insults and vulgar language on this woman. He was absolutely gobsmacked.
"Yeah. He called me earlier and asked me what my opinion was on child abuse. I said they should burn in hell. Then he asked what my tolerance was to swearing and I said 'I love them, dude'. Then… this happened. I've already contacted the authorities. So they should be on their way."
Monty was only half paying attention to the guard. His attention was mostly on his buddy, currently berating the lady for calling her daughter a waste of space. He was also claiming a few things about the odor of her private region.
He couldn't help but just stare in awe at the man on the screen, standing up against a shitty parent for being abusive and horrible. He had never seen him so fired up and hostile before.
It was beautiful. He was in love.
"MAYBE THE REASON HE LEFT WAS BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T HAVE A MEANINGFUL CONVERSATION THROUGH ALL THAT SEMEN OVERFLOWING FROM YOUR FUCKING TRAP! YOU AWFUL BITCH!!! YOU SHOULD FEEL ASHAMED FOR PUTTING THE RESPONSIBILITY OF HER DAD'S ABSENCE ON HER! HOW DO YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT?!?"
"... Hey… dude?"
The guard turned in his chair to look at Monty, raising a curious brow. "Yeah?"
"... How much do wedding rings cost? Think it would be noticeable in the budget?"
"HA HA HA HA! Dude! That would definitely make a dent in the budget! But don't worry, I'm sure Sun would be happy with a Ring-pop!"
"You think so??? What flavor? It has to be perfect! I can't screw this up!"
"Your own flavor, obviously! Lime is perfect for a… ahem zesty personality like that" he motioned towards the screen again, where Sun had just started cussing up a storm of insults without any clear point to make.
"Shit! You're right! Think it's possible to get suits in our sizes somewhere in a hurry?! I need that man to be my husband pronto!"
Again, the security guard laughed, falling back in his chair to the floor. Monty ignored him and just admired the stunning animatronic on the screen, daydreaming about what their wedding might look like. No doubt, beautiful.
