Summary
As rocky as the start of their rivalry turned friendship is, Bucky and Clint part in a friendly way after they have fought the red room. Their time apart never lasts long though, and they slowly but surely grow closer to one another. The lines between friendship and developing crushes start to blur quickly, but neither of them talks about it.
But then, Clint is missing and Bucky is concerned, so he heads out on a rescue mission. As it turns out, Clint’s past has caught up with him, in the form of Swordsman, his former mentor and tormentor in the circus.
The aftermath of all of this is messy, not only because Clint is struggling with old and new trauma, but Bucky has nightmares, trauma and bad days of his own to deal with.
Neither of the two of them are quite ready to talk yet. But they are now closer than ever, and their ever developing, romantic feelings for one another are a whole different situation to deal with on top of everything else.It isn't until it's almost too late, that the two of them finally start having that long-overdue conversation...
