Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

Mystic Falls, Prison World. May 10, 1994.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wandering around, a seemingly deserted town of Mystic Falls was Clara. Confused, sad, and most of all angry. Confused on how the hell she ended up here, at first she thought she was dead when she saw not another soul in sight, but the random solar eclipse made her think otherwise. Sad over her baby. A baby she held once. A baby she wasn't sure was even still alive because of those damn ancestors. And lastly, angry at the witches of New Orleans for being so fine with killing an innocent baby because some dead witches requested it.
What Clara wasn't expecting in this abandoned town was to hear a door close from a house behind her. Turning around, her eyes widen once she spotted an actual person. But not just anyone, Bonnie Bennet!
"Oh, my god..." Clara whispers to herself, before walking towards to young witch. "Bonnie!" she shouts, causing the girl to look in her direction, startled.
"Clara?" Bonnie questions once she got closed. The witch sighs in slight relief to see the older Gilbert girl. She would of hugged her if she wasn't holding a big grimoire and her old teddy bear.
"Is it really you? Clara asks, hoping she wasn't going crazy after not even a day of being in this empty town.
"Yeah, yeah it's really me. What are you- How did you get here?" Bonnie questions once she got over the initial shock, and became very confused.
Clara sighs, "Long story, uh probably just, witch bitches to put it simply. Uh, do you know what's going on? Because I would love to get back home." Clara says a bit stressed.
"That is actually why I came to get this." Bonnie replies pointing to the book, "We have no clue if there is even an 'out'." she tells her truthfully.
"Wait, 'we'? Who's 'we'?" the older girl questions.
"Oh, uh yeah Damon is stuck here too." Bonnie tells her with an eye roll, "Come on I have to meet with him."
Clara groans lightly, "Really? We're stuck here with the annoying Salvatore?" she asks they begin their trek to the boarding house.
Bonnie lets out a laugh, "Sadly yes. But on the up side, with you here it may help with getting us all out." she tells her.
"What do you mean?" she asks Bonnie with an eyebrow raise.
The young witch sighs, "I don't have access to my magic right now. So, if magic is needed for us to get out, you being here made it a bit easier for all of us." Bonnie explains as they approach the house.
"Huh, well at least I can help." Clara says as Bonnie opens the door.
The two could hear music being played and the smell of food, specifically pancakes. Bonnie gestures for Clara to stay in the hall near the kitchen entrances as she walks in, and watches Damon dance and drink before clearing her throat causing him to stop and look towards the young witch.
"I didn't know you cooked." Bonnie comments.
"I don't. How'd you sleep? Me... not good. My 1994 mattress was very lumpy. Watcha got there?" Damon asks.
Bonnie looks down at the items in her arms, "Oh, Ms. Cuddles. I lost her when I was nine. But I went into my house last night and... here she was.." She explains before holding up the book, " I also found this at my Gram's house. Her old Grimoire." she says before glancing over her shoulder, "Oh, and I found on last thing you might get a kick out of." she tells him before taking a few steps back getting into Clara's view, getting a nod.
Clara steps to Bonnies side, looking at the vampire, who stares at her with wide eyes and furrowed brows, "What the hell?" was all he said.
"Hello Damon." she greats him with a neutral look.
"I- no I don't wanna know. Yeah okay, well I found this." Damon says holding up his bourbon as he walks to the radio, "Drank it last year when Ric died." he tells them before removing the CD that was playing.
"So, what are we in some weird snow globe of another time, or something?" Clara questions crossing her arms.
Damon had his eyes closed as he chose a new CD. "Everything that existed in 1994, still exists." Bonnie says as the two watch him.
"For better or for worse?" Damon says as he kisses the CD he changes before putting it into the radio playing it.
Bonnie rushes over and clicks the off button, "Listen, there was a time when I couldn't practice magic. This grimoire taught me a lot, maybe, I can reteach myself. Plus with Clara have it could help me get reconnected faster." she tries to explain to the vampire.
But Damon turns the music back on, "If you were still a witch. Which with out luck, and yours skill, probably ain't the case. And little miss magic battery ain't gonna be of use unless you suddenly get your witchy juju in order." he sasses her.
"Would a little support kill you?" Bonnie questions annoyed.
"You know, I am actually aware that we are in some other worldly time dimension, now with some added company. However, do you ever think for one second that maybe it's you being negative reacting to my natural self negatively." Damon replies sassy.
Bonnie just stares at the vampire, almost speechless, almost. "You're ridiculous." she tells him appalled.
"Nope, I'm consistent." he replies before before getting plates with pancakes on the counter before the two girls. "You two are gonna have to share. I wasn't expecting guests." he says eyeing Clara, "Eat up. Oh and you can do the cross word puzzle." he tells them placing the paper between the two plates.
"Oh gee, thanks. Breakfast made by my least favorite person, my old babysitter, and a crossword puzzle from 1994. Alright what's a seven letter word for-" Bonnie stops when the sky darkens from the eclipse outside. Both her and Damon seem surprised.
"You've got to be kidding me. Bonnie look at the date of the paper." Damon says asks looking out the window.
Bonnie looks down at the paper, "It says May 10th 1994. It's the same day as yesterday."
"Wait. You two didn't realize the time loop?" Clara questions noticing their looks.
"Obviously not. Other wise we wouldn't be this shocked." Damon replies.
Clara rolls her eyes at his words, "Okay so, I've been here longer then you two, fun. I didn't bother getting a paper, so didn't know that it was May 10th though." she says with a sigh.
"Does May 10th mean anything to you?" Bonnie questions.
"Not exactly. but, it was 3 days before I was adopted. before I would have been here." Clara replies, a small pit of sadness hits her.
"Well that's it, we're in hell. And two are in here with me." Damon says grabbing his drink, "Bottoms up." he says before drinking.
"Okay before you starts to get all day drink. How about Clara and I start to work on maybe a way out." Bonnie suggests moving to the grimoire, grabbing it before going to grab Clara's arm but to her surprise her hand passes right through the older girl, "What the hell?"
"That can't be good." Damon comments taking another drink.
"What... just happened?" Clara says a bit stunned, staring at her arm.
"I don't know, I just..." Bonnie starts going to grab Clara's hand this time, only for it to pass through her again. Like Clara was a ghost. "What did those witches do to you?" Bonnie questions.
"They-" Clara starts, images of Genevieve and the others surrounding her fill her mind, "They casted a spell and I-.. I fell asleep and woke up here. I- oh god." Clara stands to explain before the image of Hayley getting murdered fills her mind. "They killed Hayley and sent me here to take my baby." Clara continues as tears fill her eyes.
"Oh, Clara I'm so sorry." Bonnie tells her softly, wanting to comfort her but can't physically. "But, it seems they just sent your spirit here, bot your body." Bonnie explains.
"That adds up, seeing as we can't touch each other, doing spells because much more complicated." A look of realization crosses Clara's face, "You won't be able to channel me either, nothing of mine is here, and I don't know where I'm from." She tells the witch.
"Yeah this did before much more complicated." Bonnie agrees.
"Wait, you had a kid?" Damon asks confused.
All Clara could do was eye roll in reply before walking out the room.
