Summary
Nine long centuries have passed in relative peace since Queen Altherion ended the War of Hemispheres, signed the Treaty of Springtime Square, and restored balance and life to Pixie Hollow. But now, one year before Princess Clarion's coronation, a Hollow-wide pixie dust drought and the emergence of lethal beasts from within the Winter Woods threaten to throw them—and their seasons—back out of balance and into a civil war that had been brewing since the drought began.
Never one to let the opportunity of a test of Clarion's strength and leadership slip away, Queen Altherion has allowed her to solve the monster problem in the Winter Quadrant. Clarion, eager to help her subjects and put their minds at ease, travels to the border between the Spring and Winter Quadrants to meet and coordinate with General Milori, the young Guardian of Winter.
What Clarion did not expect was for the Winter Quadrant to yield the answers to the questions she had asked her own extensive library, nor for her alliance with Milori to evolve to be something much more precious than she could have ever imagined.
