When Hitoshi Shinso came home from his fourteen hour patrol, all he wanted was to crawl into his bed and curl up with his cat. Is that really too much to ask? Short answer: Yes. Long answer: Denki Kaminari. Hitoshi doesn't know how he ended up renting an apartment with the man and he sure as hell doesn't know how they got here. Having Denki pinned beneath him was the last thing Hitoshi could've expected after he got home. But god if it wasn't the perfect way to end his night.

Hitoshi and Denki rent an apartment together, they fuck, fall in love, get their signals so fucking crossed its crazy, and live happily ever after. Not necessarily in that order.

Denki has a quirk accident while training with friends, injuring all of them and himself. He finds himself outcasted by everyone he knows. Recovery and forgiveness are long roads, but Denki doesn't plan on quitting anytime soon.
*** 5/29/2025: I am currently going through and updating some spelling and grammar issues throughout the fic, along with re-wording some things to help with the flow of it. I wrote this fic when I was 17 and in the last two years, my style has changed quite a bit in a way I feel is more comprehensive and I feel like it's time that I edit this. I'm also trying to get back into writing fics and I think this is a good first step. I'm hoping to perfect this as much as possible and make it worthy of the love it's received. It wasn't an odd occurrence for Kaminari Denki to go out for walks in the middle of the night. If anything, it was pretty common for him.
What wasn't normal was finding another wayward soul like his during these nights, especially when the only reason they crossed paths was due to one of them standing on the ledge of a bridge.
Denki hadn't expected his night to turn into some type of rescue mission for an alluring boy who refused to identify himself, and Hitoshi never thought this is how he'd meet Kaminari again.

It didn’t even deserve to be called that. 'Not at all. Barely a scratch in the paint.' Hitoshi sipped his latte—a well earned treat after proctoring a two-hour exam.
'Then why, pray tell, is he texting you weeks later?' He cocked an incredulous eyebrow. To be fair, this was by far the most interesting thing they had going on in their lives anyways now that their dissertation proposals were submitted.
Hitoshi looked at the latest push notification. 'He just told me where he’s taking us for dinner tonight.'”

Akarui is withdrawn for reasons Kaminari is trying to understand and reasons that Shinsou tells him to be patient for. They’ve always been opposites, they meet in the middle, cancel each other out, and Kaminari was sure he couldn’t do this without Shinsou. His friend has been there for everything. When his mom died, when Riku needed help with the baby, when missions went sideways. He was there, every time. Shinsou’s there again. Right when Kaminari needs him.
Kaminari never intended to fall in love, then again, he never intended to be a father either.
