Like/hate; I can't stand the first half, but the second half is delightful.
Start at "Well, that was unpleasant" and don't believe for a moment that reading the earlier half will enlighten, because it won't. I like the final section, but I think the story would be perfect if it only consisted of the fifth through seventh sections.

One of those rare stories that captures an era as people lived it instead of treating it as a dreamland or soapbox. Novel in two parts, chapters 1-14 and 15-30. There is a low-key het romance, and references to details of non-het relationships. Refers to other stories in the author's series, but it's not necessary to read any of them first.

Summary
In 1993, Gilderoy Lockhart points a stolen wand at Harry Potter and Ron Weasley with the intent to Obliviate them. The wand doesn't backfire. Gilderoy's "discovery" of the Chamber of Secrets is a short-term success.
Other consequences are not short-term at all.

I was watching the Chamber of Secrets movie several years back when the scene in question began to play...and immediately I wanted to know what would happen if the wand had done what it was supposed to do. The answer got very complicated, very, *very* quickly.Blame Edgar Allan Poe for the title.

Snape has had to consider the possibility for months, but tonight confirms it. Every single plan laid out for the next five years has just become useless. He doesn’t know how to replace them, and he has to.
Uneven, quality goes up and down. Technically gen, although couples are often commented on.

Bittersweet. An adult finds himself back in wizarding school in the late 1970s, among teenagers beginning to plan their lives unaware that their paths have already been laid.
No need to be acquainted with the Harry Potter series to enjoy the story, although it would have deeper resonance. It does help to be widely read in common fanfic characteristics. I love the story and the events and remember them fondly, but in between it tends to wallow, so I kept skipping sections, which gives me a distorted memory of how "good" it is. Rough in the first three chapters, but as the plot develops it settles down. Some anachronisms, probably unintentional.

How things might have been a bit different if Harry was wild about Potion-making.
At times it's hard to tell what's at stake without consulting a synopsis of the relevant book (e.g. at Wikipedia). Told in a darkly comic style; sometimes the writing style is reminiscent of Lois McMaster Bujold's Miles Vorkosigan stories.
The only Harry Potter fanfic I've read that seems to keep Snape the same while making him a principal character. The only fanfic I've read that respects Ginny. A rare fanfic in which Sirius is intelligent. A rare illustration of the purpose of social alliances and how they work in war. Rare for depicting a double agent openly serving both sides.

Summary
Fan-edited music video tribute to Babylon 5 featuring a song from the awesome Carbon Leaf. This video is arguably fun-filled with a heavy dose of pathos. The main focus is on the character of John Sheridan, but many others feature in it too. The aim was to follow the music and lyrics so the result is, well, interesting. The instrumental bit is about the Technomages and Human Telepaths and the influences that led to their creation. Babylon 5 is a superlative television series with a rich story arc. Enjoy.

Bluntly but tastefully OT3 starting from chapter 7. Circa 2012, populated entirely by Leverage main and guest characters, relocated and aged down or up as needed.
I'd like to see more works in this AU: Everyone's the same, but things happened that changed the courses of their lives: Nate and Sophie never met, he quit insurance and became a lawyer, then a crusading lawyer. Hardison quit criminality after high school and went to work as an investigator for Nate. (Blink and you'll miss it--so did Chaos.) Parker met Archie when she was nearly an adult, so he helped her make her own way instead of training her, keeping his double life hidden; she and Hardison are together. Eliot became a teaching assistant at Toby's culinary school instead of continuing mercenary work, which led to raising a child for reasons gone into in this story. Sophie on her own initiative got into teaching acting and has a shop and auction gallery; she befriended Eliot.
