Summary
My latest work for Midlink Week 2026 has been a complete odyssey—in the best sense—mainly because I was able to write the story and develop the concept. My thanks to everyone who made this possible, especially Scarlet_Curls, because thanks to her I found out about this. This is an idea of what it would be like if I took elements from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and placed them in a sword-and-sorcery setting. I’ll probably do something more with this idea later because I find it really interesting.

Summary
This is my second submission to the MidLink section Day 5 of MidLink Week: Horror/Monster. This story is considerably darker than the previous one, but I don’t think that will be a problem. If the organizers notice any issues, please let me know—I have no problem making changes.
This is the original Spanish version of the text. There is also an English version translated using Google Translate. This version will include a glossary on the second page, explaining some difficult terms for English-speaking readers.
This story is strongly inspired by two Spanish songs: La hija de las estrellas by Sauron (yes, there is a Spanish band with that name), and Hijo de la Luna by Mecano (a song frequently covered by other artists).
It is also influenced by El Monte de las Ánimas by Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, combined with a slightly more poetic prose style.In the notes at the end, I will include a link to the English version of the work, in case anyone is interested.

Midna was one of the prettiest girls in their class, at least in his eyes. He knew most people would probably say that was true of Zelda. The class president had brains, beauty, and came from an old and wealthy family. She never let it go to her head though, and her standoffish nature scared away many potential suitors. Some people in their class thought she was dating Link for whatever reason. It was a silly assumption. Zelda was a good friend, but she wasn’t really his type. That didn’t mean Link didn’t value her friendship immensely, even when she was trying to get him to confront his massive crush.
