HP Seriously Not Human
Harry Potter Creature fics that treat the idea of turning into something not-human seriously and put a lot of thought into how that would impact the character's life, their interactions with magical society, and their personal relationships. We prefer not to use the trope to explain weird, sudden new relationships with people multiple decades the MC's senior, or people they were not previously attracted to, but rather explore the changes of a species change in a natural, realistic way.

Summary
Being a Parselmouth came with the inherent predisposition to understand snake behaviours and imitate them. It was relieving Harry wasn’t going to kill anyone with venom, nor petrify them with his gaze. But also, somewhat frustrating as it was all completely useless. None of the skills that came with being a Parselmouth would help Harry survive Voldemort.
It might, in fact, have the opposite effect. For all Riddle's fury that Harry was the cause of his elder self’s defeat, he was fascinated by the fact Harry was also a Parselmouth. He had grabbed Harry’s face, turning him side to side looking bemusedly enraptured by Harry’s threat display. “At your age, I was imitating much more vicious snakes than this, Harry.”
That may have been all well and good, but Harry didn’t feel very vicious. He felt very threatened and in over his head.

This is so cool! I love how Harry can sense people's desires. It's so fae-like, which is a favorite take on sirens of mine. I kind of wish I'd thought of that for writing my siren-Harry fic 😏 Oh well - just means I get to enjoy your writing even more!
Also, I loved the interactions between the trio. Hermione and Ron were so perfect, and Harry was as well. They're still child-like in many ways but also full of independence and sass.

Each chapter is split between the "present" in which Snape has "bought" Harry and is attempting to provide him with what he needs and safety, and the "past" when Harry was beginning to change into an imp and came into custody of the Ministry.

This is my favorite serious vampire fic I've found in over ten years of reading Harry Potter fanfiction.
