Summary
“Hello, mister... uh…" Joel tried, promptly realizing he did not know pretty-guy’s name. He shook Bdubs without looking away from him.
"Etho," helpfully said the kid.
"Etho!" said Joel. "Etho, we need your eggs."Or: Joel babysits Bdubs. It goes as well as one might expect.

Summary
Etho had no reason to be at the mansion. He was supposed to be back at the tower, at TIES, helping his teammates prepare for whatever the rest of the game had in store for them. The timer on his wrist continued to tick down relentlessly. He had no time to waste.
So why was he standing around, staring up at the mansion, just letting seconds tick away?
Joel. Of course it was Joel. There hadn’t been a second where Etho didn’t think about him lately. After Double Life? It was a lost cause. One couldn’t just have their very soul connected to someone else and be expected to walk away from it unscathed. No, Etho had been thoroughly hooked by his soulmate and there was absolutely nothing he could do about it.

Summary
The day Etho falls from Heaven, his wings itch, his path through the sky dips, and nothing goes wrong at all.
...From the moment he'd woken upon the mortal plane, Etho knew that he'd entered a world where trust is a thing of stories. As he's forced to throw his lot in with the agent of chaos that is Joel, the line between mortal and immortal, friend and foe, truth and lie, quickly becomes as impossible to decipher as the man himself.

Summary
Joel did not control him like evokers could. They were bound together, equals. He didn’t quite know how to feel about it at first. Having equal say in something like that was a foreign concept to him — it was why he never tried relationships, and why he avoided evokers as much as he physically could so he wouldn’t fall into that trance once again. But Joel showed him how to be a soulmate, and not a puppet. It was … refreshing.
They based atop a hill. A pillager outpost loomed over their spot, and both of them had stared at it a moment longer than necessary the first time they came across it. When Joel had walked up to it, flimsy iron axe in hand and chin held high at the challenge of fighting pillagers so early in the game, Etho’s heart skipped a beat.
He knew what Joel was. And it made the wicked grin underneath his mask grow a little wider.
Or, vex Etho figures out Joel’s secret, that being his vindicator origin

Summary
Logically, Etho knew Joel would get hurt. Decked Out never left one unscathed. You’d die one way or the other, and inexperienced players were bound to get bitten, hit, stabbed or blasted even with the help of the Hermits.
Logically, he should not have been as upset seeing Joel walk out of the dungeon with significantly more bruises than when he’d gone in.

Summary
The streets were quiet, and luckily the sun was nowhere near setting. Night meant mutants and other monsters, so he could go wherever he so pleased for a few hours yet. And when his eyes fell on the broken sign of a mall, a grin fell over his face and a laugh filtered through the mask over his mouth and nose.
He didn’t bother to check the place for any dangerous mutants — he didn’t consider himself a tryhard at staying alive like everyone else, death would take him whenever it wanted. Instead he casually found himself the control room. It only took some fiddling to get the lights and speaker systems on.
He unplugged his headphones and connected the iPod to the speakers. He couldn’t stop himself from sighing and relaxing as the speakers crackled to life. Instantly, some song by Frank Sinatra played.
