Summary
It’s been a year since their first week at the cottage. Shane and Ilya’s hockey school has become a huge success, and they’re enjoying a wonderful life together as a couple. They were prepared to go about their days like this for years to come, or so they thought.
After a few days of feeling unwell Shane decides to take a pregnancy test, and the results change everything.

There were many things about Shane's upbringing in Canada that Ilya found hard to understand. Like why he insisted on hiking into the brush to find the "perfect" marshmallow sticks for a bonfire. To Ilya, it seemed like a lot of unnecessary effort and a high risk of mosquito bites when they could just buy a pack of skewers and be done with it.
But, like with everything that came with Shane Hollander, Ilya had learned to love it.

"You're serious?" she asked softly.
Shane nodded slowly. "Y- Yeah I am."
He looked down at his hands again, fingers twisting together. "I know it's... a lot. And I know how I used to react whenever it came up." He let out a humorless laugh. "I practically had a panic attack the first time Ilya mentioned it, but-"Yuna reached across the table and placed her hand over his. "That was before," she said.
Shane's jaw tightened.

The TV shuts off, effect disconcerting as two familiar silhouettes sit on a couch, a curly mop of hair and a neatly combed back wolfcut. A tiny, bald head comes into view when Ilya turns, encasing a baby in his arms, so cute and pudgy and under no dispute is definitely a Hollander-Rozanov.
“...What?” he asks with a grin, a mildly annoyed expression on Shane’s face.
Shane reaches out to close hands over the baby’s ears, “You watch your back, Rozanov,” he mumbles threateningly, “The moment I return on ice, your winning streak is over,”
; Ilya gets Shane pregnant. A happy accident if anything.
