Summary
Jack O’Neill’s promotion to Homeworld comes with headaches and a great big heaping of WTF. He needs an investigator yesterday, and since he’s already got enough headaches, he refuses to add more in the form of another attempt to work with AFOSI so figures he’ll try NCIS instead – the Stargate program does have lots of Marines, after all. His foray to the Navy Yard nets him two, because while he may have originally been looking for only one, there is no way he is leaving behind the man that disappeared after saving him in Iraq. Tony is not pleased with his past catching up to him but finds he might just forgive Jack O’Neill when their crossing paths gives Tony what he’s always wanted most.

Selection for the program requires a TS/SCI with an additional Special Access Program read-on, graduation from USAF Test Pilot School, and a willingness to spend at least a year in Bumfuck, Nowhere.

He's living in an apartment in Baltimore when a fire breaks out in the building. Even though he was ready to do it, he is unable to just let the fire consume him and put an end to his misery when a certain bright-eyed college varsity basketball player refuses to leave him in the burning building.

Zuko was only eleven when he met a strange girl that his uncle had taken in.
Toph was only seven when her home was taken over, only to be whisked away to another nation.
And Iroh now had a tiny girl with jaded eyes under his care and protection, all for the dying wish of his late son.
In other words, a ward is adopted into the royal family of the Fire Nation. This changes everything but nothing at the same time.

When Ozai died and Iroh took the throne, Zuko was called home from his quest to find the Avatar prematurely and the war ended without the Avatar's intervention. Things have calmed down in the three years since, and Uncle is encouraging Zuko to find a nice Earth Kingdom girl to settle down with, in order to solidify their ties to the other nations. But when the Avatar shows up just before Zuko’s betrothal is scheduled, it appears that destiny cannot be escaped, and that peace is more delicate than Zuko had ever guessed.
