“What?” My voice is disembodied, and the adrenaline causing the previous numbness of my broken ribs proves futile.
“I think I’m going to murder you.” His eyebrows lift, grin curving upward.

Summary
Marente Calister has never been any sort of normal. When you think of odd, you'd think of him. Characterized with a concerning passion for cats, bruises lining his arms and legs that each tell of a wild adventure, and deep brown eyes so dark you might not find his pupils, he's every sort of weird. Besides, would any normal kid run away from home to go live in a forest?
