Summary
The lake glowed in the darkness. Erestor stood on the shore, hands tucked into his sleeves, watching from the shadows as Glorfindel and Ecthelion glided across the ice. Snow drifted down from the low clouds, scattering across the frozen surface. Erestor could hear the pair laughing, the sound ringing out in the night.

“Lindir! I can't dance with you now!”
“Erestor, please!”
“Lindir – Lindir – oh for the love of – stop, stop!” But bright laughter rang out, belying the words.
Maglor paused at the end of the hall, a part of him not wanting to round the corner and make that bright sound stop.

Summary
Erestor shaded his eyes with the flat of his hand, squinting against the glare of the sun. His other hand rested against the warm hide of Meneldor, his dragon and friend of many years. The dragon's hide was a rich brown, flecked with gold, like the sands near the oasis of Erestor's birth. Meneldor did not like being out of the rolling dunes of their homeland but the star-touched had spoken to the elders of their tribe and to the north and west they were sent, for a great darkness was said to have arrived on the shores of their lands, a darkness their people had known but once before, in the depth of their pasts that only the eldest of them remembered.

Summary
Thorin had never thought that these two hobbits would become such an important part of their Company. He had thought the two were lost for good when the floor in the cave had given out from under them and they were captured by the goblins, with no sight of the hobbits to be seen at all. Thorin and the rest had fought their way through, with Gandalf's timely appearance saving them all in the nick of time. Thorin had never expected to see the hobbits in the trees outside the mountain's entrance, bloody and bruised, but alive.

Summary
Bilbo sat on a bench in the warm sunshine, hearing the babble of the river to his left. He tilted his face up to the sun and closed his eyes, letting the whole world wash red and black, soaking up the heat and small moment of peace. For a moment he could pretend that he was back in the Rivendell of his old age, with the peace of the valley wrapped around him, the cheerful song of the elves in the distance, the sweet scent of the flowers in the air. For a moment there was no Ring or Quest or the shadow of sorrow laying on his heart. For a moment he was at peace in the sunlight, just breathing in the clean, crisp air.

Summary
The Labyrinth was the hottest drama on the charts. Taking place in a very fictionalized First Age, where the nations of Beleriand were all confined to strange pockets of – well, Erestor wasn't quite sure just what they were, alternate dimensions? Who knew – space in a massive labyrinth that made up all of western Arda. The Morgoth in the show was some nebulous Evil Bad Guy who existed outside of space and time in the Outer Halls, while his henchman Sauron was the one in charge of the Evil Castle called Angband.
(The history faux pas in this show were terrible. It made Lindir howl with rage half the time and Elrond watch through his fingers. Erestor had paid little attention to history class in school, so he just enjoyed the plot lines for what they were.)

Summary
Elladan ducked a low hanging branch, feeling the burn in his lungs in a way he never had before. He reached out and caught Elrohir before he could fall, ignoring the shriek in the back of his head at the too small hand on the too small arm before he was facing forward once again. There were sounds of battle in the distance and the scent of blood in the air. Elladan had no idea how they had ended up in this place, in these new bodies, when the last thing he remembered was Aragorn facing off with the ghost of the King of the Mountains...
And then nothing more.

Summary
Thorin was falling. Thorin was falling. There was no way to catch him, no way to save him from that height. Nothing but Bilbo. Bilbo, who had to fall once more.
So Bilbo did the only thing he could think to do. He took one step. Two. Then a third. Then he was leaping from that platform, everything lighting up around him as he slipped from the in between and back into the world once more.
“Thorin! Take my hand!”

Summary
Lúthien drew in a sharp breath as she dropped her hand. She lifted her chin, gaze distant, as she thought it all through. No. No, she would not die in agony. Not again. She would not dance like a caged bird with a collar about her throat for a man who would deny her the family that she wanted, the children she wanted, a life with her father and mother she wanted. No. Not again. Never again.
This time...this time she would change things. This time she would make them all listen. This time...this time she needed a way to get ahead of all the horrible things that were to come and somehow stop them.
She just had to figure out how, first.

Summary
Bilbo woke from a strange dream, the strangest he had ever had. In it his Company of dwarves had gone mad. In it Thorin had trapped them all in the Mountain after they had chased the dragon out, not caring for the people of Lake-town or anyone else around. In the dream Bilbo had run for his life as his Company had hunted him through the ruined halls of Erebor, breathless and heartbroken and so scared it felt like ice ran through his veins. In the end the Mountain burned from the inside out, forcing Bilbo higher and higher as his dwarves screamed and died in the inferno below him, so trapped in their madness they did not understand what was happening.
In the end Bilbo had leaped from the edge of the Mountain and in that nightmare of a dream he spread wings of blue fire and sailed into the sky, never once looking back.

Summary
Erestor looked down as the season's newest favorite, an elf by the name of Amarië, swept into the room with a flock of admirers hovering about her. As the current Lord of the House of the Crow – and only person left in his household – Erestor had been told that he would attract quite a lot of attention during his first season and to marry quick so that any potential matches might not slip through his fingers. But during that first disastrous season Erestor had few, if any suitors, for a variety of reasons and the only prospective match had come from one Sir Penlod who spoke well but his eyes were always trained elsewhere, on more bright and fetching elves about the room.
Five years on and Erestor had fewer and fewer suitors each season. This year he had found himself once again forgotten on the edges of society and had not a single glance his way the entire month leading up to the opening of the season.
This particular ball, held at the House of the Fountain, was the last big party before the season truly began and all new heirs and debutantes would be presented before King Ingwë to introduce them into society formally.

Summary
The thick flakes of snow were drifting down from the dark sky, illuminated by the lantern sitting on a snow bank. The woods were quiet and still, with just the soft sound of the falling snow breaking the silence. The little circle of light lit only the slumped form of an elf, bent over his knees, his robe a ragged tatter around him. The pristine glitter of the falling snow was broken by the bright red blood flowing from the elf's side, soaking his clothes in it, turning them dark and damp.

Summary
Erestor remembered standing with Elrond and Galadriel as hordes of orcs and wargs came pouring over the passes. Erestor remembered how a great flash of white light had beat them back for a moment, revealing Gandalf reborn, standing tall next to Galadriel, forcing Sauron's minions back from the gates of Imladris. Erestor had been with all three of the Ring Bearers when those same gates were breached and they faced a wave of darkness that was sure to wipe them all away. Erestor remembered how those Ring Bearers had all turned, to him, hands with their Rings reaching...
And that was the last that Erestor knew.

Summary
Erestor made his way back to his rooms in the early morning light, his arms and legs sore in a way they had not been in far too many years. He slipped past the patrols of the guards, ghosting along the hallways on quiet feet, sometimes passing elves who did not even notice his presence. It had been a long time since he had used such skills, the ones he had learned in his youth, out in the desert sands, learning from his father and brothers how best to traverse the shifting dunes and leave no mark in his wake.

Summary
Finding out that his father was possibly some sort of secret spy – as was his mother – and that their longtime friend Gandalf Grey, who was Bilbo's godfather, was also a spy of some sort, and who was also holding onto a device that could not fall into enemy hands. At all. Ever. And that Gandalf Grey would one day come barreling into Bilbo's life like a hurricane and give him said dangerous device and tell him to run. Well.
It seemed rather far fetched, is all Bilbo's saying. Very far fetched. The bullets whizzing over his head at the moment, however, were very much not far fetched, in fact they were far too close and Bilbo did not like any of this at all whatsoever thank you and good morning.
Alas this was his life at the moment and there was little he could do about it. So soldier on his must. If he lived.
