Aredhel thought Ecthelion, who was about to receive the most votes, would not like the award they had prepared, but it didn’t matter; Glorfindel would persuade him in his own way. He knew that his partner could not refuse the way he asked. As always, Ecthelion’s resistance was ineffective.

Summary
After his mother's death, Maeglin had to navigate life in the city of Gondolin alone. His uncle was nothing but cold towards him, his cousin cruelly refused his love, and the people of the city turned their backs on the dark elf. Hatred festered in him, warped his mind to anger and cruelty, until an unlikely opportunity presented itself.
In return for giving up the location of the hidden city of Gondolin, the Dark Lord promised Maeglin the crown, but that was not all the dark elf wanted. With the House of the Mole at his back, his lover beside him, and his uncle chained beneath him, Maeglin starts his rule of the new Gondolin. As he works to rebuild and unite the city of elves, men, and orcs, there are dark forces at work that threaten his rule.

Even in his semi-sentient state, Maedhros was still more perceptive than most–possibly to an annoying degree but, no one would ever dare–
“What’s that?” Maedhros jutted his chin out toward the face-down notebook on the ground, then took a moment to yawn and stretch, “looks like you were reading it?”
“Me?” Fingon quickly dissembled before rethinking this tactic, “actually yes, here, it looks like a new story Egalmoth is working on, quite…interesting…” He gathered up the previously rejected romance and offered it to Maedhros without further comment.
Maedhros read it in silence for a few seconds.
His ears reddened at first–sharing Fingon’s initial misapprehension–then, “WHAT – The – Actual – Fuck – Is – This.”
