Before she was Ecthelien she was someone else, but that didn’t matter. Her new parents loved her and all her strange ways. Everything was peaceful, everything was content. It didn’t matter that everyone had been expecting her to be a boy. It didn’t matter that she was going to be called Ecthelion if that’d been the case.
At least until she played in a fountain one day.
At least until one of the elves watching her jokingly called her Ecthelien of the Fountain.
At least until she remembered everything.

With every cycle past, her mortal form in Arda grows that much more unstable, giving her that much shorter of a life before she turns her body to ash. Her soul is too strong, and too ill-suited for that which she reincarnates into. Still, her good deed to complete in that lifetime is fairly simple – she just needs to get one Frodo Baggins and what he carries to Rivendell with the aid of her chieftain. A simple task, no?
Well, it would be, if her rather extensive past there doesn’t decide to catch up with her first.
