Famed ghost hunters Lucas Sinclair and Dustin Henderson - along with their camerawoman Max Mayfield and girl-in-the-chair Erica Sinclair - head to Hawkins on their latest adventure, to check out the supposedly haunted Creel house. Abandoned since the early nineties, Hawkins presents a challenge none of the four have ever seen, especially as the ghost of a young man appears, explaining he cannot cross over until he can reunite with his lost husband.

The year is 2284. The world has been in disarray for two hundred years, ever since Henry Creel – who no one is sure actually existed – released the Upside Down in the Right Side Up world. Militia training is in full swing for Lucas Sinclair, Dustin Henderson, and Max Mayfield.
Their plans come to an abrupt halt when their closest friends, Will Byers and Mike Wheeler, go missing. The three decide to venture beyond the safety of Hawkins, a shadow of its former self, to find them. Demogorgon attacks are increasing, and they come across a young frightened woman in the woods, who escaped from the nearby Hawkins lab.
The girl – Eleven – has a secret none of them were expecting, one that Will might share. Why were Will and Mike taken? Who is this mysterious Eleven? Will the three be able to survive in a world harsher than the sheltered lives they all grew up in?
