“What texts?”
“These.” His face settled as Reeve pulled up cropped screenshots of paragraphs that he’d sent throughout the semester apparently. There were also voice recordings featuring his infamous slurred speech and giggly drunken voice. But the pictures. The pictures he sent to him were the worst of all.
“I never responded because I never thought it wasn’t my place to, but now that we’re both here I can just tell you everything myself”
Reeve’s voice was drowned out by the noise of everything else around him. His head got heavier as he realized why he had absolutely zero recollection of sending anything to Reeve over the course of the semester.
He wasn’t sober.
Or, since there was nothing else to hold him down after his pre-college breakup; Adam, like a stereotypical college student turns to parties, bedrotting, and boys to cope. But when he goes home for the holidays and winter settles over his small cozy town, he can’t help but feel the hole in his heart that was most definitely never filled.
