Alaska really shouldn't have looked at this short pathetic man that day, maybe if he wouldn't look into those stormy green eyes he would be now free from all this drama and in his bed.
But - he thinks. - no matter what, Oklahoma isn't the one who should be responsible because he would love to hide under his own blanket as well.(Even though it is Tex/Ok, truth is that Texas is barely there, it's mostly centered around OK and also Alaska who didn't sign up for it, but it's too late now)

If this had been a normal building, where the temperature was reliant on electricity or gas, California would be upset, but it’s not the case- for the most part, the Statehouse’s supposedly electrically powered appliances operate off of residual magic.
It’s cold by California’s standards too, now that he takes the time to think about it. It’s really cold, so much so that if he hadn’t been accustomed to wearing his flannel and beanie inside, he might have actually noticed it.
“You’re right,” California agrees, as much as it pains him to say that to Florida, who’s spent the last several years doing his best to justify the positions of his politicians, “Something weird is going on.”
