"Would you prefer water, tea or coffee?" Will asks, pulling out coffee for himself. "I'd appreciate a glass of water," Hannibal replies. He's still setting the table, having warmed up their meal. Will sees the care Hannibal put into the food just in the presentation alone. Cooking is quite an uncommon hobby for an alpha to have, but Will has learned to savor it and appreciate the gesture.

Nahhh, It's probably just all the stress and exhaustion. Until one night..he wakes up sweating and that odd uncomfortable feeling has returned. Could it be something else? Nahhh, it's probably just another night terror. The next day, he ends up collapsing during his class lecture!! When he awakens he's told that he switched from a beta to an alpha!?! HOW?! WHY?! WHAT?! What will happen to Will's somewhat not so normal life?
Basically Hannibal, but with an omega verse and a bit changed up...
I got inspired by the idea of changing/switching secondary genders by this BL comic called "Romance, But Not Romantic", so full credit to them for the idea! Def recommend it.

Will’s having a no good very bad day today, so it’s just his luck when Alana walks in his classroom while his students leave. The alpha’s been romance-heavy as of late, always smelling of sugared rose petals, and he’s too tired to dodge her persistent advances on him, especially considering her having rejected him when he had encephalitis due to him being “too unstable.” She had smelt more like amber and berries then, he remembers. An enticing yet smoldering rejection. Now she just smells like nothing more than disappointment.
So, of course, when she asks him if he’s had any other dates recently under a veil of flirtation, he tells her he’s sworn off dating due to some asshole. Said asshole? Doesn’t exist, truly. He hasn’t been on a real date in decades. He just wants her to leave him alone. So when he blurts out a name, it’s only his luck when it turns out to be his psychiatrist’s.
Will accidentally tells Alana that his fake ex-date was Hannibal. What could go wrong, or right?

In a world where the numbers of alphas and omegas get lower every year the American government requires every alpha and omega citizen to have at least one child at the age of twenty-five. Several dating shows started following the search of attractive, young candidates for the right partner in a rather small dating pool. But some people are either unable or unwilling to bear children at a young age which led to the popular “fine wine”-edition of Mating island for candidates of thirty and upwards.
Hannibal Lecter is the most fought-over Bachelor on the island but would really appreciate going back to his hobby of murdering and eating people instead of having to father a child. Will Graham neither appreciates the lime light, nor wants to give his job in the FBI up to bear and raise a child. Will they find true love? (Answer: yes but with a lot of Cannibal jokes and murders in between)
“What would you wish for in a future partner?”
Will just sighed. “I hope they like to cuddle, fit in with the pack, are obedient and like to play fetch.”
Freddie´s nervous twitch in her cheek started up again. “You´re describing a dog.”

Throughout Will’s two-timing job, he discovers something about Hannibal he never thought he’d learn to embrace despite his years as a devoted, though often taken advantage of, profiler for the FBI. Hannibal wants to bring out the darkness in Will and Will lets him.

They meet with Will, finding him exactly what they want in a surrogate. Only, it is not as simple as having Hannibal's child.
